Constantine the movie - your views?

hmm not sure why people disliked it so much. i quite enjoyed it even in comparison to the comics.

up till that point it was my favourite of the new age Comic adaptions, obviously shortly after Batman Begins was released and easily stole the mantal.

I enjoyed it but mostly because of the story and the characters, rather than the acting or script. Keanu did his usual plank of wood acting style.

I thought it was quite good, tho it never quite managed to completely live upto the potential - I think people rate it badly purely because they don't like Keanu - who actually doesn't do a bad job in it still a bit wooden but it kinda fits the character (the movie one) to a degree - IIRC the comics had a character more along the lines of ace ventura and that just wouldn't have worked with the movie.

I liked it and didn't realise it was a comic book...

Guess it's the usual, come from reading it in a comic and you hate the film, just watching it as a film and it's good. Personally I don't have a problem with Keano either, quite a good actor in this sort of film.. Not everyone has to overact.

Not an awful film. Probably not on a lot of people's DVD shelves either! :p

People really shouldn't associate a film with the the book/comic it may be based on. Things have to be changed to suit the budget, the technology and the medium. Plus you are relying on writers, directors and actors to live up to how you imagined things when reading said books. That will nearly always fall short.
