Contact lenses, which ones do you wear, whats differance between monthlys & dailys?

I've heard monthlys are the best but they're a pain in the arse, if you forget the contact solution then you've got to go home, like you can't stay out.
I need to get my eyes tested though, driving along i thought a fat woman in a brown coat was a horse for a second.

I used to wear continuous wear monthly contacts. 28 days in continuously and 1 day off.

I'm going to need glasses when I get round to getting my eyes checked. I refuse to wear frames full stop. I look like a bluetit as it is, never mind with an annoying par of glasses on my face.

Surely with nights out etc, you could have a few daily contact lens and leave you monthlies aside? Cost would be slightly more but worth it for the reduced hassle?

I'm not looking forward to either really, but as it stands i'm very sure i'm short sighted, worse so when im getting tired :(

I wear laser eye surgery, they are lifetimes I think

thinking about it, but so damn expensive (I know cheaper than glasses/contacts forever) but coupled with the fact my eyes are really quite bad, it might take more than one attempt, so it'd really cost so much more
plus still hearing a few dodgy stories.

I wear monthly, dailies woud be so expensive. I keep some dailies for swimming etc. Contacts are great, could never go back to glasses.

I wear daily lenses from Specsavers, cost £23 per month I believe. Been wearing them for over 5 years now, would be lost without them.

I really 'abuse' mine, as in have them in for the maximum 12 hours (the opticians recommend no more than 12 hours per day) a day, pretty much everyday. Haven't had any problems with mine, sometimes my eyes get a little dry when the air-con is on at work but that's about it.

I started with rigid gas permeables. Excellent vision, but uncomfortable if I had them in for >12 hours.
I now wear dailies. Vision isn't as good, but the maintenance of them is easy, ie none!
I paid £87 for my last 90 pairs from Asda

I have considered laser surgery, but my eyes are so bad, the chances are that I would still need glasses or contacts afterwards so it's kind of pointless.

I started off with dailies but use monthlies now. I think dailies are find if you only wear them a few days a week, but I was told that they dry your eyes out if you wear them every day (and they get very expensive!).
I don't find the monthly lenses hassle at all, I carry a case with me whenever I'm out so I can take them out or dip them in solution if my eyes get dry.

I think they come from the same people who said Plasma tellies needed re-filling.

Had my eyes lasered 8 years ago, still going strong.

i pay vision express 20 quid a month, for lenses, solutions and any check ups that i need.. i don't pay for appointments.

i have torric lenses, pretty good but if i go over the month's use they get uncomfortable.. plus air con kills em :(

I wear monthlies, never worn anything else but they are very comfortable for me. I wear the Coopervision Proclear lenses.
