Control Resonant

Finished the main story at the weekend. I thought it was a great game overall. I think there was a lot more story in control 1 which I preferred but everything else was at least on par.

Still got a few side quests to finish. Not sure I will though unless they add a lot to the story? Any you guys would recommend to finish?
None of them are critical to fleshing out the story.

Is this game particularly difficult? Had a friend message me last night absolutely raging about how hard some bits are.

Some bits but not overly.

I think the issue for me is that the game somewhat forces you to have the right skills to beat certain bosses and although a lot of the side quests are side quests I think they end up being important to do so you can level up.

It's not crazy hard. But it's probably the case your friend isn't using the right skills or weapon for the scenario.

For example, I tried to take on the Hedron Parallel without the spore turrets and it was almost impossible at my level.

Get the spore turrets from a resonant from an area easily missable as there is no direct quests in this area and the boss was a piece of cake.

Equally the physicist resonant needs the scythe weapon for parts of the fight for fighting multiple enemies at the same time.

Not really if you are used to playing these type of games. It mostly comes down to understanding the game mechanics. I assume that, due to the previous Control, a lot of non-RPG players have bought this game and are the ones struggling.

Compared to the likes of Dark Souls/Sekiro/Black Myth, this game is pretty easy.

One thing I'd add to that , is I did struggle for a while with the first boss, but not really for any of the others. So if they are near the start they may find it gets a bit easier.

You can adjust the difficulty through the accessibility options (they've got all sorts of different presets). I had to do that for one boss fight.
