No, I mean in the Nobility, it was common, only becoming frowned upon toward the later 12/13 centuries. Nobility often sealed treaties by sleeping together as a mark of trust.

It should be pointed out that sleeping (and talking) was all that happened. The principle went like this: the king had people with him at all times, except when sleeping. To be allowed to sleep with him was to be allowed to have secret discussions with no advisers to interrupt. Homosexuality in itself was understood, but by no means tolerated. Whilst Edward II got in most trouble for allowing his male lovers to have undue influence over him, there's little doubt that his homosexuality was, in itself, a major reason for his downfall.

As I said it was not frowned upon until later in the period. The first regulations against homosexuality didn't surface until the mid 12th century.

While I will agree that by the 14th century (as I said before) the cultural mood had changed in regard to homosexuality, during the early period it was of no real concern, especially outside of England.

It wasn't until the late Medieval period and the Renaissance that Homosexuality or Sodomy as it was then referred to (homosexual being a term not coined until 1892) was actively persecuted.

Its what you are sexually attracted to, for me wormen, for gays of either sex their own gender.

Its how its always been and should be just excepted.

The only thing that can never be accepted in sexual preference or attraction is forced sexual activity with no-consenting adults or paedophilia.

For the record I cant stand either man hating extreme lesbians or mincing woman wanna-be women gays these people seem to also get on gay and lesbian friends nerves so its not a hetro thing to get annoyed by them, the same go's for gay and lesbian hater's, why hate them?, pointless.

I think you are meaning to say it's not common.

Saying it's not normal implies there is something wrong with it.

not at all. if someone likes peanut butter and jam sandwiches, that to me is definitely not normal, nothing wrong with it though. maybe abnormal was the wrong word.. but to me it is definitely not normal.
