Stir-fry all the way - it's good for you, quick, and doesn't make you fart.

strips of chicken or fish (normally) covered in breadcrumbs and shallow fried - good for dunking and are cheap to make.
would shallow fry just be a drizzle of oil and frying them in it like sausages etc?
Tefal - surly the cooker has some kind of grill and you also have the oven that you can use.
Won't get you anywhere if you do that tbh.
Make it about half an inch of oil minimum - depending on the size you're shallow frying.
What?!?
No oven. What type of establishment do you live in? Even my cooker has an oven and im in Bangor!
Nope, far more oil than that.would shallow fry just be a drizzle of oil and frying them in it like sausages etc?
Wikipedia said:Shallow frying is a type of pan frying using only enough fat to immerse approximately one-third to one-half of each piece of food; fat used in this technique is typically only used once.
ahh though that might be it, we aren't allowed to do cooking like that after someone nearly burnt one of the halls down a couple of years ago![]()
i live in catered halls
and the cooker looks older than my dad.
Well, bring up the "human rights" to their face - as long as you're careful, not a retard with oil (and water at the same time), don't walk away when you're heating up the oil, you'll be fine.
Otherwise, omit the shallow/deep frying and go pan fried, pan grill and the likes.
I'm sure they're probably talking about deep fat frying that you can't do - that seems a pretty normal halls rule - not letting you shallow fry is just silly - and how would they know?!
yeah think I'll have to we're not allowed to put oil or fat down the sink as it blocks them up, yes the hall is ancient, almost as old as Big kev.
