Lions and Tigers should not be compared to humans, unless of course you think they are of a similar level of intelligence?
Surely as the most advanced species on the planet we have a responsibility to prevent suffering where possible? Why not just hit the fish on the head before slicing it up? I don't think anyone here has an issue with eating other species, it is causing unnecessary suffering which riles people. You seem to have completely missed that point. Just because a tiger shows no empathy doesn't mean you can apply the same logic to a human.

You are forgetting that we are animals too. Also, if it is because we're so called "intelligent" then why don't we see Dolphins killing fish "humanely" as they are apparently more "intelligent" than us Humans.
We may choose to eat meat; nothing wrong with that. But if a fish can be killed humanely or not, why on earth would we choose the latter? Generally people of low intelligence suffer from a lack of empathy, maybe why you find this concept difficult to grasp.
Also kenshinu, Dolphins more intelligent than humans? What exactly are you talking about? Dolphins are sea mammals. They might be the most intelligent things in the ocean, but you don't see them using tools, creating civilisations and venturing into space, do you? They also don't have the capacity to kill something humanely - they simply need to eat to survive. As humans we don't suffer this limitation - we can choose to kill an animal in a humane manner.

I found this vid a little disturbing simply because i dont like the idea of animals suffering for entertainment purposes, not because im a hippy or anything like that.

And how the **** is a dolphin going to blast itself into space? Like you said they are sea animals, so they aren't going to have hands to use tools or create civilisations. Just because they can't do the same things we do, doesn't make them less intelligent.
By the same token, how could a dolphin humanely kill a fish? It can't. Your argument is flawed; we are talking about humans, not animals. Humans have the capacity to kill in a humane manner, which should always be the chosen option.
Unless you are suggesting a dolphin somehow grip a fish and whack it on the head to kill it?
I thought the posting standard in force at the moment was that if it was safe for daytime tv it was safe for the forum. Can you point me in the direction of the daytime tv cooking program showing graphic animal death, or the daytime documentary on bloodsports showing the actual killing of the animal, with close ups of the corpse and grinning dog owner, or the Amateurs cooking programme showing how not to kill and cook a crab? OCUK has become very distasteful in the last few days. Especially as the OP has admitted in this very thread that the sole reason for him staring this thread was to *provoke* a response from the "tree huggers"

Didn't you get the memo? I think the edict came from the "babes" thread. Apparently it is not safe to show a picture of a nipple, but is is ok to show a video of a snake having its head cut off.
I'm sure they do. If I was running a forum though, I would probably try not to nail my card carrying hunting credentials or whatever to the mast so blatantly, and instead would probably try to be impartial with a view to not upsetting potential customers. However, this thread is not realated to that....
By "could be construed as" you mean "is". How many other trolling threads are closed daily on a routine basis?
