Cool enough?

i'll do some research on it, if it gets any hotter i'll have to look for better cooling, still a bit worried about gpu though =P, i've had two gpu's burn out before this, and they used to run at 60-70 load (5700LE & 6600) they only lasted like a year

i'll consider folding aswell to do my part back to the community :cool:

Bit drastic (& might not work/produce same results), but I took of my GFX's HSF and applied some AS5. Dropped temps by about 2°C & fan never spins above 60%

I've allways thought 60< was the rule also but one of the links posted above suggests 49-71! for a 3700+ :confused:

They are all different which is why we say <65 or <60 to be safe.

I can't believe it would die at 49. This is something Amd had better sort out before they try and pursue a prescott strategy to combat core 2. They can't go raising clocks to the limit and then have no proper maximum temperature. At least prescotts can cope with the high temps and don't die if you exceed them.

i had my x2 4400 at 70oC for a day untill i reseated the cpu waterblock and went down to 25-30oC @2.75 1.475v

in sig, Gainward bliss 7950 oc'd to 520mhz core and 1300mhz memory, just doing 10% oc's at the time being as to not overload em, cpu runs at 50-60 and gpu runs at 60-75, so just gonna sit back until I can get some better cooling.

As i said, the gpu is fine, you won't get much better than that really. An ac silencer would keep it at 65 under load.
