I don't get this, someone help a noob :(

I ran the speed test and it shows:

Downstream - 2438 kbps
Upstream - 373 kbps

But my router shows:

Downstream - 8128 kbps
Upstream - 448 kbps

Which do i believe as now meant to be on max??
 
Your router is showing what your line set to run at, but what the test has given you is what you can really get due to limitations on your line.
 
I'm finding AOL to actually be good. Apart from the fact that it's AOL. I must get around to dumping the AOL bloatware and just having the connection. I repeatedly find myself using Firefox because the AOL browser (a) doesn't have the brilliant NoScript plug-in (b) frequently doesn't display pages properly and (c) manages to lose Flash much of the time.

For the connection, though.


That's on a 1Mb connection. Ping isn't so good, but I get that download speed all the time, completely reliably. The upload speed seems to be higher, though - it used to be ~220.
