HI, had a search on ebays site but couldnt find anything. Does anyone know the procedure for reporting another seller to ebay who has exactly copied my listing (ie the words)?

Thanks :)

I'm sure it's not against the rules. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The rules that ebay set are quite strict.

You can't copy any content from another person's auction. No pictures or text.

I don't know whether ebay actually do anything about it though. You can report the auctions by the listing number but somebody copied my photo and nothing was done about it.

Ah, well you learn something new everday! :p

I have had auctions deleted, because they blatently copied mine - they just changed a few words and phrases, and assumed I wouldn't notice the formatting and wording.

Yea thats okay, but this is a word for word copy of all that i wrote.

Someone did that with one of my auction, I wrote a paragraph describe an HiFi item. How it sounds, basically like a Advertising pitch and this guy copied it word for word. I email him letting him know i wasn't please but never heard back from him. chicken !

To add insults to the wound, my item didn't reach my reserve and he got 50% above my reserve price.

yeah that would definately annoy me.. you should have editted your item to show that he had copied you somehow

Same happened to me a while back. Selling a power supply, someone copied the listing exactly and used my picture. I asked them to remove it but got no reply, so I reported it and the listing went away.

It may not be harming you directly, but its annoying at having taken the effort to write a full description and take a decent photo only to have someone just sit on their behinds and copy it 1:1.

How would you like it if you had a website or blog or something and found that someone copied it word for word, picture for picture? I know I wouldnt be too pleased.
