Copied Ebay Listings

true but there still not hurting anyone
It's:

A) Cheeky
and
B) Plagiarism (I think)

If I've taken the time to write a listing that will help me sell my product, Joe Bloggs from the Ebay community has no right to copy my listing verbatim to help boost his sales. Chances are it'd mean that he would be selling under false pretenses because what he is quoting is my item description based on my product, not his. His product may be similar but it would not be identical.

How would you like it if you were creating a classy website to sell to a company, and some guy came along and copied your website 100% verbatim and then sold his copy on? Surely that's the same as copying a band's music without their permission and selling it off as your own?!

I've had my description plagiarised as well. It was kinda funny to see the poor attempt at concealing that fac: changing a word here and there, sometime breaking grammar in the process.

Bugged me a bit, but it's not the end of the world.

Someone copied my pictures from one of my eBay auctions, I wasn't really bothered as my auction was almost finished :p

90% of my auctions pictures, ive just took from another listing of the same item, no time to take pics myself / search for identical pics :p

also for some auctions i copy the html word for word from another auction, if its really simple like a list of specifications and a couple of other stuff, then just add a bit of my own thing

Thats all very well, but as a buyer looking for a particular item, if I see two items listed and they look identical picturewise or some aspect of the description looks too similar, give the nature of eBay, I personally would begin to suspect a scam and it would put me off.

Sorry mate, was a rather crap attempt to have a muse at copying things and you were the poster above me!
