so i got this new ssd drive, used reflect to copy my C: over so i could use my ssd as main drive.. successfully copied it over but my computer will not recognize it as a bootable drive.. just asks me to put in a bootable drive and press any key..

anyone knows what im doing wrong? i can find it in windows and all.

kingston ssd that followed for free with the asus 970 gfx. hyper i belive its called.
i have tried using the program, it clones my c: but the ssd isnt bootable.. there is no boot on it

Edit: posted below but may be wrong, can you see it in the bios?

If you have only copied the c: drive and no other partitions, its probably not booting because the MBR isn't present.

If you have a windows disk handy, boot into it and select repair my computer, then open the command prompt.

type these 3 commands:

bootrec.exe /fixmbr
bootrec.exe /rebuilbcd
bootrec.exe /fixboot

it may ask to confirm the windows installation location, which would be C:\Windows.

This should rebuild the mbr to allow the hard drive to boot to the right partition, there is more info on bootrec here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/927392

I think there also is an option in the macrium reflect bootable environment, to fix boot under the tools or options menu.

Yes. I can see it in bios. I tried to install windows from scratch and
It told me I can't because it's a gpt or something like that.

If that makes any sense to you?
