copy my C: to another drive to replace it

I will want to take my raptor out of my current machine to put in to a new build that ill be buying shortly.

What is the best way to copy it on to another drive, and then swap them over. ie take my raptor (boot drive) out but still leave this pc running off of another older HD i have. .

but im assuming i cant just copy and paste off the drive, whilst its running as the boot drive..... ?

thanks for all the replies.

will have a look at those clone apps.. i assume you can image the drive whilst booting from it..?

and yes, i want to copy the c: and then take it out and put the copy in so everything stays the same (except that actual drive)
