Multi-tool is a game changer for plunge cuts/detail work. I have used them extensively for sanding, too. But you need good quality detail sander bits otherwise they fall apart.
i just clocked Aldi selling a multi tool for £12.99 so figured might aswell get that as it'll be fine for what I want to use it for. I only want it to make quick cuts in skirting and in plasterboard, nothing too ott. Bargain really.Consider carefully whether you need a multitool. I bought one in place of a detail sander, thinking it would be more useful, in fact I haven't used it at all, except for the odd sanding! I really do wish I had bought the sander instead.

Shame about the chop saw being OOS with Aldi now but I have just seen someone locally who I can hire one for £10 £15 along with a stand too so i may just get all my chopping jobs together and hire it for a day to save me buying one for the moment.
I only really need it to cut some wooden blinds to size, to cut some boxing in around our gas meter and to hide the wonky cut i did to one of the doors on our boiler cupboard on the landing![]()
