Apparently this chip is meant to be hitting retail within the next couple of weeks, yet there's been hardly any fanfare.

The new CPU will work at 2.53GHz, it has 3MB cache memory and a 1,066MHz FSB. Check out the LegitReview here which shows just how much potential it has in terms of overclocking (they got their one to 3.8GHz!)

Another positive review, this time from Techgage.

Simply put, the E7200 is an absolutely fantastic processor. It's fast, inexpensive and is capable of tearing through all of our benchmarks with relative ease. Despite its low-end status, it's even perfectly suited for gamers, as evidenced by our four games. When the E7200 delivers identical results at 2560x1600 as our QX9770 does... that says something.

Nowadays, it's hard to make a wrong decision with your CPU purchase, but if you are building a new machine and can hold off until the E7200's launch, you won't regret it. All-around, it's a fantastic choice.

Can't wait to get one myself! :)

Are these just Wolfdales that have some faulty cache on them?

Basically, yeah, kind of like the E6300 and E6400, but they're on a lower FSB so the multi's quite high. They look like great chips, but don't let the retailers know it or they'll show us they know. ._.;

OCUK's rival states they have them in stock but I don't trust them anymore, Last time I tried to order a Cosmos S (before I read a proper review) Stating it was instock and it wasn't for another 2 weeks lol.

I never bought the case in the end.

Legit reviews may have hit 3.8Ghz but that Techgage review could only get to 3.3Ghz. Could'nt go any further with any stability even with 1.55v. I was expecting to these to clock better than that due to the 1066 fsb. Hopefully they just had a bad chip.

Just seen them for £87.50 in stock.

When did the 2.6Ghz E4700 come out? must have missed that one.
