so it's a bug or that's the actual temp?

edit: getting about 55c on both cores under load. That's at 3.1 ghz with 1.36 volts...on a noctua nf12. I'm going to be putting a Q6600 G0 in there next week and am starting to wonder if it'll cope when overclocked...

you know, i'm not even 100% sure at the moment. It's a SCLAR one though.

Here is the link you may find useful (original posting by Tizor~OcUK HQ) (15th Dec 2007, 10:29 PM) (pg16)

people, look out for the Q6600 L745A stepping cpus, Week45, these are overclocking monsters and ocuk has a large batch of these in OEM, not seen one over 1.25VID and most arround 1.200 dead, i tested about 20 so far and ALL good.

For anyone who is intrested you can grab the new CoreTemp 0.96 with the Atsiv loader here.
CoreTemp-0.96-Vista64.rar
Just run the included coretemp-startup.bat and have fun :D

My only question is, do I trust the new 0.96 or the older 0.95.
See below:

Well after reading the release note it looks like 0.96 is correct and 0.95 was lying
Would certainly explain why I have trouble getting past 3.2Ghz, even so my load temps are now a whole 20c higher which I have a hard time beveling.

Hah! You think you have problems?

that's a tad roasty for 3.6ghz .....that's on water isn't it?

Yes, all my machines run water, but that CPU currently has 1.5V through it (in BIOS) to get it fully prime stable at 3.6GHz. And it still has over 30C to go to TJunction so it's still well within it's recommended operating range. Oh and the fans are only running at about 500rpm.

I'm really not one of these people who is into ultra-low temperatures unless I need them - I'm after pace and peace if you like. If it runs at 70C, but very quietly then I'd rather have that than 55C and a delta howling away next to me.
