Cornish Pasties

I tell you what Greggs is the best bakery by far imo, best prices and best taste.

Obviously a proper hand made cornish pasty is the best but they aren't bad from Greggs for about 60p.

What on earth is greggs? I know of no greggs pasties in cornwall ;) You can't beat the genuine article :D My old dear can make a pretty close cornish pasty also.

Agree with what pickers said, unless it was pheebs?!

greggs....

i especially love it when they warn you your pasty is hot and as you carry it out it melts through the stupidly thin plastice bag that the paper bags inside

corned beef > cornish

sausage rolls > pasties

caramel slice > *

can you tell there was a greggs ouside my old work :o

proper pasties used to have three meals in them

salad at the start, steak and potato in the middle and custard in the end, thats what my grandad used to have when away on fishing trips, proper pasties arent remotely like the things that ginsters make.

I love real pastys, ginsters are acceptable but not remotely genuine :)

But a pastie with mustard in isn't a cornish pasty...

Cornish pasty is made up of potatoes, carrots and some meat.

Don't forget the swede and onion, but you can forget the carrot :)

I dont personally make them but "W.C.Rowe" in truro is the best place for cornish pastys ever!!!

I may see if they have a website, dont know how they make them that good, there was a place better than them called Blewetts but they got bought out by Warrens who are horrendous in comparison lol!

I use W.C.Rowe in newquay, thier pastys are amazing, I love the pastry on them. Yeh I know what you mean about Warrens, bloody awfull.

Best Pastie I had was when I visited Tintagell... a little cafe just up from the castle had Mahoosive Pasties that were ver ver nice!... plus thay had some 'Original' pasties too!... Sweet at one end and savory at the other!... I had one of them a bit later!... Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

For a quick pastie style fix Ginsters are acceptable, but small private bakeries, or this one little shop in bath are brilliant!! I could eat those all day everyday until I died of a new problem, pastie poisoning!

Heh, WC Rowes in Truro, awsome pasties, used to live on those when I lived in Truro :D

I seem to remember they'd have people queueing out the door in the summer, with Oggy Oggy just over the road empty!

You can't beat a good home made one, my Mum's are really nice when she makes them.

have been eating a lot of Warrens recently, have to say they aren't too bad. Was in St. Austell on Saturday, Warrens were sold out, so went to Malcom Barnicott instead, ewwww never going there again, tasteless rubbish.

Trevithicks in Redruth are nice, Berrymans if I'm really desperate.
