Corsair 620 enough for a Mega Rig?

What does that entail and how much will it set me back

about 50->100squids if you DIY, however thats no longer legal in the UK so youll need an electrition so looking to double that :( anyway, last resort - doubt it will come to this :)

1kW will not trip you house wiring breakers.

People would be waiting a while for their kettles to boil and their electric fires to heat the room if they had to be below 1kW...

And remember that a 1kW PSU has the potential to supply 1kW, doesn't mean that whenever it's on it's sucking 1kW - given the same system, it shouldn't 'suck' anymore than a lower wattage PSU, it only takes what it needs...

so your saygin this kind of power draw for my specced system will not trip the breaker...

To supply 1000w at 230v it only needs to be at around 4 - 4.5 amps.

Hehe, reminds me of a time I took my laptop to a LAN party at Uni a few years back. As the last person arrived and joined, they tripped the building out. I then slowly ran around the counterstrike map racking up the kills...

Surely they disconnected...

I bow down to youe intelligence in this subject area, thanks for putting me straight. With my initial build i think i can manage without a UPS system, but when i pile in the components in the coming months i will buy one. thanks to all contributors.

(holds breath ready for a roastin).. Thermaltake...

Does anyone have any first hand experience with a Thermaltake Power Express

if i can cut 100 quid off my initial build i will, does anyone know if one of these drive bay PSUs will power 1x 8800gtx,

Also If anyone has any review links that would also be appreciated

Spent some time racking my brain over this and found an old 195 watt sparkle psu lyin around, given the space that the Mozart TX afford Im Going to use a secondary PSU to power the Fans + Cathodes and other items that consume small amounts of power. Also the DVD writers can be powered off this second source.

With the removal of these Items from the Main PSU i can afford to drop down the psu a little, I read an article on (oh noes) theinquirer.com sayin top end 500 watt psu can support a kentsfield with g80 sli. I dont reaaaally think thats viable but does anyone know if either the thermaltake power express 250 or the fps Boosterx3 will handle a single 8800gtx?, If not I would Either go with the etasis 850 or silverstone Zues 750 as they are both on Nvidias Sli 8800gtx approved list, anyone who has used these psus please share their thoughts and or quibbles

thanks again
