Corsair 650D

This is on my list. But can anyone confirm if it's a good case for air cooling? Are the fans ok as-is? I want to replace my lian-li which has terrible cooling and required a fan controller to keep the noise down. My 700D is extremely quiet but far too big and heavy for my needs.

Just wondering if this is a good case for cooling and noise.

Cheers,

This is just one very very rough mock up of my Corsair 650D & EK water cooling kit and a couple of the 650D, just to get prospective on it (build log coming later)
Does the water setup look ok ??
Anything I need to do ?

Well I got one at the weekend and it had a manufacturing defect on the brushed aluminium bezel, the top bit was all bent and falling off

Got another one now and will move my bits across this coming weekend when I get the chance. I can't be bothered after work mid-week.

I have to say it's rather massive comming from a Fractal R2, I'd hate to see the 800d next to mine. At least my parts will have more space and I'll finaly be able do a decent cable management job.

I just need a blu-ray drive and I'm set!

Well I got my build sorted last week, overall I like the case, plenty of room inside and it looks the part. A couple of things I hate are that the side panels don't sit completely flush with the rest of the case due to the clips being in the top and rather far from the edges. Secondly there is very little room at the back of the motherboard tray to route cables and I had to force the rear side panel on, again it is far from flush and sticks out.

There is no drive bay converter included either so at the moment I can't use my 3/12 internal card reader

The fan controller works well, the USB 3.0 pass through cables can be neatly routed of which there are two.

Overall 8/10

Anyway here are a couple of pics:

Must agree with that too side panels don't fit flush and no drive bay converter(but don't use one anyway so np) So I will give it 9/10
:D

Hey guys, anyone got a pic of some cables routed around the back of the case? I know it looks untidy but I won't think less of you....! Just interested to see how the clearance works out.

I'm glad mine arn't the only non-flush ones. Also do your fan controllers actually make a blind bit of difference?

If you check the other thread I wrote a little summary of my findings. Basicaly the reason the clips are there is because there isn't a huge amount of clearance but they allow you to cram it all in so it works fine, you wouldn't be able to do that otherwise.

Does anyone elses 650d turn on if you pull it forward? I'm not sure if it only happens when you use the bottom of the case at the front to pull it. But it definitely keeps happening. I'm guessing it must push pressure on the switch some how?
