Corsair 800D and air cooling

I did think about getting the rear fan to pull air in but it would mean reversing the fan on my Coolermaster V8 cpu cooler which atm pulls air from the front of the case and out through the rear case fan.

Just been playing WoW for 2 hours and the gpu didnt go over 64 degrees with the gpu fan manually set at 60% & also the new fans were running at 1000 rpm which the stock ones did not do & as a result in WoW before I fiited the new fans the card would ramp up to 71/72 degrees on the same setting.

Looks like I have got my airflow working as it should do.

Cheers

roman59 - what CPU are you running? Do you have it OC'ed or at stock? I would be interested to see some screenies of temps for both??

I really really want to invest in this case but want to be sure I can get some decent airflow in it so that it can house an i7 OC'ed to 4ghz without it being cooked.

I also want the case because I intend to go watercooled sometime next year and this looks like the ideal case for it.

Hey there

I am running a i7 920 at stock which idles at around 29 degrees & under load sits at 47 - 50 degrees in the 800D.

Something else I did notice last night was that everest was giving the correct readings on the Xigmateks but using the stock fans that came with the case the rpm readings seemed to be really erraratic so maybe the stock fans were faulty in my case?

Hope this is of use to you?

Cheers

Hey all

Just fitted 2 Xigmatek 140 fans in the case one on the bottom pulling in & the rear fan pulling out, you will be pleased to know that they have taken 5 degrees off my Gtx295 at idle!

No extra noise either so I am really pleased with the result.

So I have managed to get a better airflow into the case.

Hope this helps some of you :)

Cheers all

That fan arrangement is the default on mine. Did yours differ from this?

Its the same in mine but I replaced the stock 140mm fans bottom & rear with the Xigmateks which seem to pull more air in hence my drop in temps, plus I have 3 120mm Sythe flex's running at 1200 rpm pulling air out in the top of the case.

Good to know mate if I need the additional air flow while keeping things quiet
