Corsair H100 Review

Elastic bands mate. I tried to use the clips from my old NH-U12P SE2 but they were a complete pain in the bum to get on and resulted in one snapping and promptly stabbing my self in the face with the remainder... Yes if you are going to try, definitely use lacky bands!

Funny you should ask as I'm priming at the moment. After 4 hours of blend at 4.8GHz @ 1.345v and hyper threading on the highes core temp I've got is 76 degrees, however it hovers at 70ish. Gaming I couldn't tell you as I usually don't worry about it, probably mid to high 50s maybe low 60s

Yeah my room must be in the low to mid 20s. Also my 2 Lightnings don't help either as the exhaust hot air into the case

For SNB overclocking, make sure PLL Overvoltage is enabled. Chips that could 'only' do 4.8 before then should boost 200MHz+. I've failed to see a 2600K do less than 5.1 with 1.5V+.

5 GHz is not a 'cherry' CPU - one that can do 5G at 1.35V or less is a good one, probably hitting 5.7G+ max (or something more palatable for 24/7).

I've got a H100 on order anyway, going to pair with four 130 CFM (109 Pa) Delta VHEs. See if I can get my 2600K with non-98ºC temps at 5.3G with full 4C/8T for 3DMark Vantage.

I dont really get how this PLL voltage works within the CPU.Is it recommended to have the PLL Overvoltage enabled on SB for 24/7 usage,or could it be a problem having it enabled long term.

Well it's in the system and I've gone straight to testing it at 4.8GHz with hyper threading at 1.345v which CPU-Z shows as 1.332 at load. Max temp shown so far is 70 degrees so 6 degrees cooler than the NH-D14. Still to do more thorough testing but so far very impressed. As said before stock fans are not being used. I have 4 Akasa Vipers attached to this thing and I'm using IC Diamond 24Carat

Going to order some of the IC Diamond 24Carat paste this week when I get around to it.But will I see any real improvement in temps over the AS5 im currently using hmm! I dont really know.

I just got 1 of these. i have some Apache Black Super Silent to go on there.
Shall i use 2 fans or 4 ? and how should i set them up.. fans on the outside sucking air in? sucking air out?. fans on the inside pushing air onto the rad etc?
shall i use my MX-2 paste or order some IC Diamond 24Carat? and as for power, shall i use them straight to the powerpack, or 2 on the motherboard, and other 2 attached to the powerpack.

Any help would be nice :)
Thanks a lot.

Well for the HAF-X I have it mounted in the top of the case with the air blowing out the top. I have all four fans connected to the pump and the pump connected directly to the power supply because when I have it connected to the motherboard there isn't enough power being supplied. With the Vipers I have the pump control on the highest setting, slightly louder than the Noctua but not by much considering the amount of fans have doubled. I am really quite impressed.

Ok thanks i try that..
I have a Cooler Master CM-690 II should the rad be mounted onto, inside or outside?
Thanks.
