Corsair K70 keyboard

Well, I've just received one of these in black with red backlit keys. Have to say I'm very impressed indeed. It's my first proper mechanical keyboard and it's taking a little getting used to, but it is a lovely bit of kit

Think they look absolutely beautiful. Have to admit I'm a teensy bit jealous when I look down at my bog-standard K90. Cherry reds are definitely my favourite key switches.

I've nearly bought the K90 several times. The only thing that really stopped me was I wanted it in black

Then you should have waited for the K95, and started saving

K95 looks nice indeed, but I wouldn't really use the macro keys, so prefer the more compact K70 I think.

Yeh, definitely overpriced but it was exactly what I was looking for so was prepared to pay over the odds a bit for it.

Overpriced compared to what? Full mechanical with independent backlighting on every key for £120 sounds pretty damn good to me!

I paid £120 for my Filco (Cherry Brown) with no backlighting!

Yeah I paid my Filco with black keys 120£ as well so for 70£ and cooler looks it aint overpriced at all.

Good! I only came across this keyboard yesterday but I'm pretty sure I'm going to order one.

I previously tried the CM Storm QuickFire Pro but it had a faulty USB socket and after I sent it back I couldn't seem to muster the enthusiasm to order a replacement. Also, it was only partially backlit, which was a bit lame.

Will be getting my K70 tomorrow, cost about £85 direct from Corsair USA but shipping is a little over £2,000.

Apparently the box is quite heavy!

Because I am weird and have used an NA keyboard layout ever since buying a keyboard on holiday when I was younger, now owning a second home out there I kind of have everything with NA layouts.
It only gets annoying when I want a £ sign and have to do the Alt code.

I still buy plenty of hardware from OCUK so don't worry

It's definitely a fantastic keyboard, with high grade materials and build quality along with a nice classy design

I fully recommend it to anyone after a mechanical gaming keyboard.

I'm jelly of the backlit keys

I have the K60 and can't say a bad word about it. Never needed macro keys being a FPS gamer so it's ideal for me. Real tidy bit of kit!

Compared to the razer blackwiddow 89.99, TT esports meka g-unit 99.98, qpad mk80 99.98, Cm storm trigger 99.89 i could go on but i've proven my point lol. Im not saying its a bad keyboard i've been waiting months for it and will be getting it but when the price comes down its not worth 120quid at all.
