Right, my last thread got a little confused with people saying the shop should be doing stuff legally etc, when the point was just to inform people of what is involed with RMA'ing this memory.

PLEASE do not put stuff about legal etc, I know my legal rights, was offered for it to be sorted etc.

To date:

18/9 (Tues) - Logged ram problem on corsair website
19/9 (Wed) - Recieved email saying got request log!
21/9 (Thurs) - Recieved email saying RMA approved and will get RMA number within 24 hours
24/9 (Sun) - Sent email asking for RMA number as not recieved!
25/9 (Mon) - Recieved email asking to repeat information already supplied but on an spreadsheet!
26/9 (Tues) - Recieve RMA number & ram sent (Airmail insured! By the way, Cosair RMA returns are USA only!)
29/9 (Fri) - Recieve another email from Corsiar with different RMA number!!

If anyone has had similar problems with OTHER ram manufactorers, or good service to recommend them, then please do. The idea of this thread is maybe by my problems and issues, other people can be 'steered' toward better service providers, or know the risk if they are unlucky enough to get a faulty product.

Thanks!

It has always taken me at least 2 weeks to turn around an rma to Corsair...

If you can find it there is a thread in the houseofhelp forums where 2 or 3 euro rma'ers **** off 'Ramguy' and the moderator Wired

Yep here it is...

You won't hear anything at all until it arrives, when the UPS man knocks on your door.

A mate of mine posted some Corsair back to them a few days before your first post about this, and he got his last Friday, so yours shouldn't be too far behind I would have thought!

Seems to be taking nearer 3 weeks at the moment, but I guess it depends on how busy they are.

The good news was his package came marked 'warranty replacement' so there were no customs charges due as feared in the thread in the link above.

Mine came marked that way too.

That's right, I've never had a customs charge from Corsair.

Mind you, last time I did have to pester them for a confirmation of arrival at Fremont and they said they had no record of it. I had sent it DHL and gave Corsair the tracking number and they 'found' it.

I insisted on a return tracking number and 'followed' its progress back to my door.

Do OcUK not deal with corsair RMAs anymore then? Sent my RAM back to them in the past and they tested/replaced it... just that I've now sent an RMA request today because the replacement kit is also faulty it seems :(

If I have to post it to the USA, then I don't think I can be bothered. I'd just cut my losses, sell off my other components and build a Core 2 system instead.

They do, but it takes a while. They test it, before sending it back to Corsair for replacement. I'm not sure they couldn't do more, like replacing from stock, but there you go.

I sent my 2nd RMA back to Corsair direct, it only costs a little more than returning to OCUK anyway, and it was turned around in about a week.

You can do either way to be honest, but direct was quicker in my experience, and they return a different set of modules even if they found no fault with the old ones, which can be useful when diagnosing some problems.

Got a response from OcUK, it would appear they are referring Corsair RMAs directly to the manufacturer now as I feared. Gah.

Tooks, how did you manage a turn around in a week?!
I sent mine a week last something, and its still not back! Not even acknowledge they got it!!!
Me thinks will claim insurance from Post Office, and if it turns up, then I made a couple of quid! :p

As I say, they couldn't have been busy back then! 3 days to get there, turned around same day or next, and then 3 days back to me. I was impressed!

They aim to turn it around same day is what Corsair Customer Services told me, but at busy times, it can take longer.

Perhaps they've had a lot of RAM go wrong lately?! ;)

Sent some GeIL back to Taiwan at a cost of about £2 and got it back via DHL within a fortnight a few months ago, and more recently sent a stick of Corsair back to OcUK and got a brand new replacement stick in about 7-9 days I think it was.

Would you Adam n Eve it?!!!
I sent this memory by International Signed for airmail, on the 29/9, and I have been told today it was delivered, today!!
Thumbs up to the postal system as its taken 2 frigin weeks!!

Holly Heck Batman!!!

Edit. Posted on 27/9 not 29/9!!

posted 28/09 received by corsair on 05/10 cost £8.18 - no word as of yet from corsair. Just e-mailed them, i'll let you know how i get on.

Well blow me!!!
When they said they had recieved it, they meant it had been delivered!
Its all installed and running 475.6MHz on 2.2v with 4-4-4-12 timings!
I have 380MHz FSB with 9x giving 3.4MHz and 4:5 divider!

Now thats more like it!
Will run some tests tonight/tomorrow and post some std and OC'd timings!
Think memtest will be run tonight!!!

Well thats the end of that for me! I did write a stroppy letter as it all took so long to try and get some C3 stuff, but it did not work!! Don't ask don't get I say!!!

Well my 3500LLPRO has decided to die on me. I suspected something was up when some downloads came back corrupt. Ran mem test at it brings up errors right away and tested in 2 different machines :(. Strangely I can use windows and play games absolutly fine (although prime95 fails right away).

Started the RMA process with Corsair today so will see how it goes from there.

Glad you got it sorted mate!

The replacements I got back from Corsair are running great too - Value Select DDR2 667 Mhz (5-5-5-15) running with no errors at 857 Mhz at (4-4-4-12), and at only 1.9v.

Not bad for basic RAM! :)

A fortnight later I finaly recieved my new memory back from corsair. 3 day ups turned out to be 6 days. ups tracking is interesting though. the box spent a day at midlands airport. a whole day between arrival scan and import scan. I used corsairs new RMA Express online form and everything appears to have worked out great.

Hello, Yellowbeard here. I have recently been hired by Corsair to assist with technical and customer support at various forums. One of our reps in the UK pointed me to this thread. Sorry I got here so late, this is my first week.

Shipping issues aside, is everyone satisfied with their memory and the support they recieved?
