@CorsairRep - H100i problem!!

It's all very well retapping the whole to a different size but if the metal is that thin then this will keep happening and the hole is going to get bigger and bigger until you can't retap it anymore. Corsair needs to go back to their roots and start making quality stuff again instead of churning out mediocre products just to make a quick profit.

This.

If OP messes with it a few times and then it breaks later on, what then? Some companies use any issue to get out of a RMA - not saying corsair are like this, usually after some pushing they get around to solving the issue, but not everyone is so lucky.

Sorry if my expectations are too high at wishing for a product that just works without me spending time messing around with it.

Really? Your comparing an AIO to a consumable? I'd be worried if someone tried returning an electrical item due to a fuse.

It's a design fault that needa ro be addressed!

Hmmmm, not really, I'm comparing an AIO to a laptop, and a screw to a fuse...

I had a few ciders last night, sorry if the tone was a bit off, it wasn't my intention for it to come out that way. I get that you might not wanna mess with something in warranty, that's cool.

I opened my case the other day and found 2 of the fan/rad screws at the bottom of it...

I've not had the rad off the case since I bought it but the PC does get driven about for once a month to a LAN or work.

I had exactly the same problem with my H100i, but came up with a solution which has worked very well. The stock screws are just a tad smaller than an M4 machine screw thread, so I purchased some M4 machine screws as replacements.

As long as you're careful and don't overdo it, the M4 screws will cut new threads into the stripped holes (it's only aluminium) and work *very* well. I've had zero issues since.

I got mine off ebay. They're up there under item number 181300550163. Fairly sure I got the M4x30mm, or the M4x35mm, as the stock screws are 1-1/4", which is 31.75mm.

Hope this helps =)

I have a H100i which I've had working happily for over 12 months. Over the period of ownership, I've removed it 3-4 times for various reasons.

I transferred my rig into a new case yesterday and out of 8 screw holes on the H100i, I now only have 3 which bite when screwing to the chassis - its in for now but god only knows how long for and I'm using the screws provided.

Have you got a fix for this?
Is this an RMA job?

Not sure how I missed this, but based on what you described, I think its best that you get that unit replaced via RMA. Re tapping is always an option, but I wouldn't personally suggest it.

Start your RMA request here, Corsair.force.com and send me the ticket - I'll see to it that we handle your RMA accordingly.

A bit unfair to those thousand of customers who are happy with their coolers for a very long time. A few reports like this will never translate to us being cheap for a quick profit scenario.

There may be thousands of happy owners, but there are also hundreds if not thousands who were or are not happy .. including many of first H100 buyers who had many grinding pumps, and now buyers having issues with Corsair Link.

Are you going to send him a RMA replacement before he sends you the one he has? Are you going to pay post for his RMA return? Because that is what companies with good CS do.

That's a good point considering I'll have no cooler :D

I don't think Link still works correctly with 8.1 as I still need to apply the registry fix to have any control over the fans.

Let's be realistic here, if there are thousands of unhappy customers with our coolers, we'd have stopped making new ones ;)

I'll make sure that he is well taken care of, like we always have.. I'll oversee the whole process myself to make sure that everything goes smoothly.

Not as long as you can still sell them. Today's industry is far more dependent on advertising than on product quality. Tell people enough times something is great and they will believe it even if it's not true. :D

I have had dealing with Corsair in the past and it was never a quick and easy resolution. It's good to hear you will make sure "he is well taken care of." But again, you are not answering my direct questions and instead saying "well taken care of" .. whatever that means.

As I said above, it's good to see a rep on the forum actually taking the time to deal with our problems and complaints.
Thank you!

A poll on these could be quite telling. Just because people aren't telling corsair doesn't mean its not a common issue. I refitted my H100i into a new case and had the same issue. I just used bigger bolts for the ones stripped.

It would certainly be telling ... I no longer use or reccomended their power supply's due to relatively poorer QC and build quality then they used to be ( gs700 bang , 2 rm850 bang ). all newer cases I have from corsair seemto be unable to get panels to fit flush ( air 540 , vengeance c70 ) my 540 arrived with two dead hotswap connectors . and now my rad . No more corsair for me or clients . Just can't put trust into anything I buy from them like I used to

Evidently, you guys had unfortunate circumstances with Corsair and I truly sorry to hear that. I wish I could have done something to alleviate those misfortunes to restore your guys' faith in Corsair But if we are really going to compare reported issues vs "this Corsair xxx is great" on these forums, or rather internet in general... I am sure that most of us already know the answer.

We (I) see Corsair issues on a dally basis both on the forums and other online chatters, and sadly, they are unavoidable in this industry. A grim reality that most companies in this line of business have to deal with day in, day out. But the fact that we are constantly engaging these problems everyday, shows that we are committed to resolve even the simplest form of issue the minute we see one.

We value your feedback guys, we really do. This is why every time we come across Corsair issues or disgruntled customers because of our product, we try to intervene and understand the problem so we can provide appropriate support that suits that individual.
