You have me interested, very interested. The only thing i'm concerned about is powercolor. Are these quality cards or would I be better off getting something a little more costly, the Asus cards maybe?? I dread to think how much I'll get charged for putting this thing together lol
 
they're reference cards directly from amd so no, i wouldn't waste money (since the coolers are going to be taken off to mount the watercooling blocks anyway

btw, i'd never, never advocate spending 2.5k on a rig...its crazy money. imo, spend 1.5k max and that should be more than sufficient to run games for the next 2-3 years

My first card was AMD. I wanted to try Nvidia, because a few people (off the forums) think they are better. Benchmarks and price point swayed me towards AMD again though, even if I really wanted to try Nvidia.

Build it yourself :eek::eek: Its not that hard (although water cooling may be a bit iffy) and MANY people on the forum are willing to help you out. There are also some god youtube guides (Newegg guide is quite good)

Very picky but all can be fixed, see spoiler:

No messy fan/LED controllers, the H440 has a built in fan controller (around the back of the case) to run upto 10 Fans off PWM control. :)

Black and white theme, with white coolant and white fans.

Rotary fittings for cleaner lines in the loop.

I shudder at the thought of building it myself lol, I just don't have the confidence and my habit of cocking up anything that involves having patience is legendary lol

It looks amazing but I do prefer the 2.5k setup you have posted. The only reason I am going for the best that I can now is I have managed to get that number past my Mrs, If I was to go for a 1.5k rig and wish to upgrade at some point down the road, it could get tricky!! So, with this in mind I've decided to go balls out and get a rig that will be able to handle a 1440p monitor from the start. With luck and some grovelling I may be able to get the 1440p monitor for Xmas and then my system will be complete, for a good while anyhow.

The AMD systems really interest me but my head keeps switching back to nvidia, then AMD and so on... I guess the original system I posted, the one you kindly commented on is still a contender, with a few tweaks gleaned from the info you guys have provided. And, I have managed to get a sli 780ti down to 2k

I think my main, thing, is... What would be gained spending a nice chunk on watercooling when I can get a sli 780ti system that will stay cool and quiet for the same money?? Granted the watercooled systems look amazing and I should hope they would be quieter than air cooled 780ti's?? But, I am concerned that with all of the tech it just gives more opportunity for things to go wrong, which is fine if you know what you are doing, but I don't have much of a clue at the moment.

hue comes with its own led lights =)
with proper cabling, it shouldnt be too messy
what's non ideal about 16/11?
its not black/white cuz its black/red
