Dock leaves = one of the best things about nature. There's always a dock leaf around whenever you get stung by a stinging nettle. It's great.

Make sure you get the young leaves. The older ones are the ones that develop a sting. Plus, boil them throughly.

Dock leaves are awesome. I remember in my younger days the frantic search for a dock leaf following a nettle sting. It was cool to be healed by a random plant you could find nearby

In the UK and Ireland, dock leaves are a traditional remedy for the sting of nettles and one that is surprisingly widely known, perhaps due to the abundance of nettles and the fact that Rumex plants often live nearby in the same sorts of habitat

Dock leaves are also used for wiping number 2's when you're caught short.

The stings of Urtica ferox, the ongaonga or tree nettle of New Zealand, have been known to kill horses, dogs and at least one human". :eek:
