No internet would be a nightmare. I'd get tonnes of phone calls and lots of people trying to yell at me. But I'm a core network engineer at an ISP, no internet is not an option.
Seriously, it's probably more mundane than it sounds, investigating people mainly for the purposes of civil litigation, with some criminal prosecutions thrown in on larger fraud investigations.
However if mobile phones stopped working I would be screwed. Trying to contact people hundreds of miles away from the middle of no where can be fun even with mobile phones. Due to dead spots.
Would mean that we would have to resort to hard copy manuals instead of Google and looking at vendor websites and forums .... would slow us down but we are trained in what we do so we would cope.
We have to with our really reliable internet access here ...
Depends on my current project as I work for an educational portal, if I'm making resources I could get by without the net but if I'm setting up new sites or doing any maintenance then no. If all sites but work related ones died I'd either get lots of work done or none because I'd have died of bordem, not sure which though!
Sadly no, I can still take care of the disabled child I look after without the internet.
How I would cope without my fix on my phone when I get a spare minute is another issue
