Could you run for 30 seconds at full speed without being exhausted afterwards?

I think so yeah. Slowly building my speed up at the gym. 10km/h for 20mins atm...I know it's not much but I was horribly unfit so it's a big step from there!

but there's a difference between intensity and speed ;)

Anyways, I guess i should have just asked if you could run for 30 seconds. Probably easier to let people judge whether they feel fit or not without having to run fast

I could say i can sprint at a comfortable pace without being out of breath, as i cycle many places and just recently quit swimming for cheshire in the County Games.

i have bad knee and ankle tendons, so i cycle . i can cycle at 12-14 mph for 15 miles before i have a rest and it takes me few mins to recover before i make a return journey .

not sure how this equates to running,, what's the ratio on cycles/running miles? i would say something like 5/1 maybe?

if i could run , maybe i could manage 5-8 miles before needing to rest. im no athlete but only 3 years ago i was overweight and a smoker and there is no way i could do what im doing now. lack of oxygen to the lungs means blood cant supply muscles with oxygen, this is what makes you exhausted.

I haven't had a good sprint for years, but as I walk a few miles journeying between home/college and the bus stop during term time and excercise in other ways outside of college, I feel confident enough to say that I could at least maintain a fastish jog for about 30 seconds.

I can't. I could barely run for 5 seconds let alone 30!!

My sport is poledancing so it requires strength more than stamina. I have quite good core muscles

Erm no, as running at there full speed! would fully take there breath away.

If it does not!, there not pushing fully!

Some advice for you. THEIR = Belonging to them. THEY'RE = They are. THERE = "Oh, look over there"

THEIR full speed. Take THEIR breath away. THEY'RE (As in, THEY ARE) not pushing it.

You'll thank me one day.

I would have left it, but 3 times in one post just pushed me over the edge.

You run fast, without pushing intensively. Or you run with max intensity and run faster I just meant running your fastest without going red in the face and pushing like an olympic runner approaching the finish line

but then thats not full speed :p

Ok so you run fast..but not at your full speed.

You can't say 'fastest' as the very meaning of that word implies the pinnacle of what you can do.
