Counter-Strike Global Offensive (CSGO)

Loving the Hydra expansion, well over due to bring a bit of freshness into CS.

No decent drops yet, but the Wingman missions are so much fun and really help practice clutches. I like the idea behind the limited weapon buying one, but it should be per person not per team and the casual modes are disposable fun.

To the person with 1800 hours and no mic, sort it out! Communications is at least 50% of winning competitive matches and there really is no excuse when you can get a passable one for 5 quid.

Deagle is not the right choice below the top 3 ranks. IF you are messing around and expect to fail then go ahead, most people are using it up close which is completely ignoring that a lot of the pistols are 1 shot kill up close; the deagle is a cheap awp :p Derank would be a correct rename for that gun :D

UMP is greatly undervalued. Bit of a nerf recently but its 1200, its far too good still

I've just got back into this after years away from the PC in general, let alone CS. I'm loving it again already, just purchased the Hydra operation thing, but no friends to complete the challenges with! :(

Is it possible for individual skins to drop or is it all based around the crates that you open? I've opened a few, admittedly.

If you buy the operation coin in theory theres a very slight chance you can get the more expensive skins dropped. Ive had that a few times, probably your best chance of a good drop or its crates yea.
Every week any player can get some normal skins and they are usually deliberately muddy dull examples. You can collect, upgrade 10 of them to get the next tier. I used to bet them on pro game results but this isnt possible any more afaik.

Heres a list with links to every type possible, lake collection is a normal drop

No surprise

Well since you want some Concrete information :D

Its going to run until September apparently, but they have extended the last two operations by a couple of months so I expect the same to happen with this one.

BUT the really cool thing, is unlike previous operations, your drops stack, so if you dont play for a week, you get two the next week.

Ha ha cheers - didn't realise that the drops stack; will definitely pick it up now! If anyone fancies doing missions or anything feel free to add me :)

I think my name on Steam is owyn_davies. The wingman missions which were 2v2 have just finished and they were awesome, hopefully they'll be back soon.

Can someone explain to me this http://csgopedia.com/crosshair-generator/ has 2 buttons to copy settings and all other guys made generator using https://github.com/Skarbo/CSGOCrosshair and has only 1 copy button? So I think the console has a limit on commands? Am I right?
Both have 2 options to copy.

One to copy into a config.cfg and the other will simply let you paste it straight into the console.

For config.cfg;
cl_crosshairalpha "200"
cl_crosshaircolor "1"
cl_crosshaircolor_b "50"
cl_crosshaircolor_r "50"
cl_crosshaircolor_g "250"
cl_crosshairdot "0"
cl_crosshairgap "0"
cl_crosshairsize "5"
cl_crosshairstyle "4"
cl_crosshairusealpha "1"
cl_crosshairthickness "1.5"
cl_fixedcrosshairgap "0"
cl_crosshair_outlinethickness "0"
cl_crosshair_drawoutline "0"

To paste straight into console;
cl_crosshairalpha "200";cl_crosshaircolor "1";cl_crosshaircolor_b "50";cl_crosshaircolor_r "50";cl_crosshaircolor_g "250";cl_crosshairdot "0";cl_crosshairgap "0";cl_crosshairsize "5";cl_crosshairstyle "4";cl_crosshairusealpha "1";cl_crosshairthickness "1.5";cl_fixedcrosshairgap "0";cl_crosshair_outlinethickness "0";cl_crosshair_drawoutline "0";

Managed to rank up to LE, a proud day!

been concentrating on Hydra.

I've tried hydra the thing with weapons expert is the thing is so damn casual if you lose the first 2 rounds half your team just leave because its not "proper matchmaking" and "who cares right". Majority of people seem to have such a throw away attitude to the game mode its hard to get anywhere if you start poorly.

So, what settings do you guys play on?

I'm trying to come from 1024x768 stretched to my native 1440p, but it's just hard! :(
Strangely I'm kind of going the opposite way at the moment - gone from 16:9 to 4:3 stretched having not played it for years, really quite like it!

Is anyone interested in some friendly 5v5 games? I've got a 128tick server with some credit on to use up and thought we could get some fun OcUK games going where it's not too serious and everyone can have some fun.

ATM we tend to get a few games in per week with a regular crowd who vary between GN3-MGE, but there's also a couple of LEM's and global smurf or two knocking around.

Sounds good, I prefer 5 v 5 to mm as I think of MM as a merry-go-round. Theres an illusion of progress but especially the higher ranks need a lot of improvements to skills so might as well do 5 v5 to improve. Realistically you need about 12 people idling in ts3 and then your'll get a game, otherwise people end up waiting too long and MM with 1 click and go becomes preferable again

Reddit runs 5 v 5 every tuesday, also theres faceit, popflash and couple other alternatives to MM for anyone new to CS who might not know this

In steam, you can set a unique URL. [Profile > EDIT] Thats the best thing to post as the profile link for people to add, I keep sabrett as mine. Atari will be taken but Atari-ocuk would be very findable for example and profile name can be set to whatever as always.

A group to help distinguish also helps - http://steamcommunity.com/groups/ocukcsgo

I used to play 1080p. Then I reverted to my oldest cs res which is 1280x1024 stretched all low.
I've also played 1024x768 and even 800x600 but that is not preferable and I'll go back to 1080p and full AA later on

I just max everything out at 1920 x 1080 with V-Sync set to double as triple buffering causes so many problems for my old GTX 470.
Turn V-sync off is best and make sure fps is 150 or higher. I think thats recommended as buffering places your viewpoint in old frames.

This map does not look actual. Zeus in NAVI and other players
Yep the screenshot is old but players alter their settings as well anyway

I would definitely be up for this - getting back into the game slowly, not MM'd in months but probably GN2/3 ish.
