Counter-Strike Pro Mod

BS detected.

Another CS:S v CS debate. How tiresome.

4Kings were not always the huge clan they are now. I trialed for them back in the day, a couple of my friends have been in them over the years. Its really not that unbelievable.

And that is not the issue. What is the issue is CSS players being ignorant to CS, so therefore assuming that CSS is better.. When in reality, its not even a shadow of it.

I'm sure I'm going to regret this question, but what makes cs1.6 the better game? The Inferior graphics? The floating granades? The rubbish smoke effects? The wall-spamming? Please enlighten me as I really want to know. Basicly css is cs on the source engine...

Anyone found a way to hide weapon models when using them?

I'm quite enjoying this so far. Not been able to play properly yet though, since I could only find one server and got DC'd instantly :/

One man's opinion.

CSS and CS are two totally different communities. I couldn't care less what CS players think of CSS and vice-versa.

Unfortunately it's just not, hence why ProMod set about recreating Source as it should have been, without all the major bugs and glitches and exploits that the devs have done **** all about in the years since its release.

I've played Source since 2005 (I think), played a tiny (like a few hours here and there) of 1.6 with a mate and I saw how much better 1.6 was.

I still play Source, frankly because it's the only game I'm any good at (and I'm still RUBBISH at it), and I've given it up a number of times due to the problems it has (reg, hitbox inconsistencies, glitches, bugs, exploits, not to mention all the crap strewn about the maps (HERE HAVE 1 MILLION USELESS BARRELS!)), unfortunately I keep getting pulled back into it.

Will check out ProMod as it sounds right up my street but unless it becomes the norm I'll still be on Source.

So for those of us who missed the "good old days" of CS1.6, what exactly is wrong with CSS and what makes this better?

hitboxes are an absolute joke these days.

i really miss the map variety that you got with stock CS maps, they were brilliant compared to the crap played out across europe that I have found over the years.

i still love css though. just getting a bit boring.

I love these threads it's like a circle jerk for cs "pros" with the odd passer by commenting on WTF they're doing :p

its a lot more than just hitboxes, too much to have to type again:P read up on www.cspromod.com, therres laods of info there and a question answer bit aswel :)

It stopped disconnecting last night, so had a 30mins or so play on one of the only two servers found. It's certainly "old school" and it really does make such a massive difference to have decent hitboxes for a change. Comparing them to CSS is just laughable, really difficult to see why they are so pants in CSS.

but HS or nothing is the best method to have hitboxes :P I'm pretty sure there is just a massive head hitbox about 10ft behind the player
