Hi guys, just downloaded CS source. I thought it was pretty average TBH compared to what i remember CS to be in it's early beta's.

Should i get CS Condition Zero or just normal CS?
 
CZ is an abortion of a game.

If you don't like CS:S then get 1.6.

I feel the main thing missing from CS:S is the headshot death animation. Bodies just slumping to the ground is nowhere near as satisfying as them flying backwards in a dark red mess.

The player base for cs:s seems to have just passed cs1.6, 4 years after release. And mostly cause cs 1.6 is gone downhill.

Exactly what about the early betas do you think was better. It may have been original, but compared to any version since 1.0, it just wasn't anywhere near as 'developed'.
 
well i played since beta 3 and quit at 1.5 because the game just seemed to be far to commercial ... i am now downloading CS:CZ and CS.

Got any data for that? Only 8 or so months ago 1.6 had a player base around 5x that of CS:S. I don't know why but Valve removed the online stats so you can't see directly from them any more. For the record 1.6 is superior :p

I've seen bodies flying back from headshots o.O

Right this is really ******* me off, it's only with 1.6. I can play bots no problem but when ever i try to play online i get a network error about about 2 mins of play. This is weird because CS:CZ and Source work fine.

what router do u have? if its a speedtouch then there u go, o2/Be box just reconnect to the same server after disconection or mess with the routers game section.
 
Ok, now it's happening on CS:CZ as well. Is it punk buster or something kicking me off? I simply brought the games using stream via credit card so i would expect that when downloading it provided me with everything i needed ?

i have a Bebox. how does that explain though that i can connect and play for a while but then time out?

And decent hit boxes, and wall banging, and decent spray patterns, and..
