Anyhoo, dont see why people are snubbing Tactical Intervention at the moment, so what if the graphics aint the best ? Its all about the gameplay, it could be a lot of fun.
 
According to Hayes and Wheelwright's four stages of operations contribution, Valve (and steam) are in stage 4. Stage 4 says they are externally supportive as well as redefining industry expectations. Steam and valve have operations management at the pinnacle of excellence. If they do ditch dedicated servers, then it will mean they are actually rubbish, so rather than think they are needed, we must wait to see if they include them. If they do, then they are needed, if they don't then they aren't needed.

Scarecrow, sorry mate but you really need to stop looking at Clanbase as representing the entire competitive gaming community - it is just one of a number of competitive gaming leagues/sites, have you not come across the SGL, ESL, CAL, ED? Apart from the big cups like Eurocup and Nations cup the cs/css community abandoned it years and years ago. At the height of Source's popularity there was hardly anyone playing on clanbase and its ladders were always considered a joke.

Just look at Enemydown which up untill its recent troubles was the UK's largest grass roots gaming site (not talking about high level stuff here just the average joes) and on there you still have hundreds of teams playing css whereas cod4 died ages ago...
 
CS:S / CS is just one big clan fighting game.

ALSO ... now that COD6 is going through IW.net, I wonder if they thaught about the people who rent out DEDI servers and how much they will lose out on..
