Couple of IT interview questions..

Actually what i said initially IS correct, P2P software/networks such as kazaa/filesharing or torrent based filesharing are peer-to-peer, as they are serverless. In fact that is actually the best example you can have of P2P networks. Ok there may been a server-side somewhere down the line but they are pretty much pure peer-to-peer. I was going to use this as the overall idea. Yes i should have expanded it to include a P2P office LAN.

As for windows NT that is not an unreasonable question. As you know, all Windows versions are based on NT, i assume they are asking about NT 4.0 (server and workstation version) if so why, NT 4.0 is legacy and has been replaced by Windows 2000, 2003 and now 2008 and has dozens of know security holes.

No, the best example of a peer to peer network you can have when going for a job interview at a business is a small site network with 5 PC's and a printer. Not an internet file sharing network for illegal moviez.

Nope, sorry, that's a troll.

I'm out.

You were never in, 'Soviet, CisCOw and burger' pretty much is all you said, where is your technical input ?

I don't honestly think epic is the right term to describe your complete and continuing failure. I hope someone (knows of) or invents a better term, because you sir merit it.

All the same I wish all the best with your interview, and just hope they dont laugh you out of the building/city/country

I asked about the other thread you posted in (the one about coding, vb6 and .net), which you seem to have ignored completely...

I'm just filled with morbid fascination as to what you're going to turn your hand to next...

Have you ever considered actually studying and understanding an area of computing BEFORE attempting to embark on a career in it?

:)

please link to his post about coding, please I beg of you:p
EDIT Boo Mr^B it would have only taken you a second grr!

To be fair to the OP, I've managed to wing it in IT roles for 10 years without loads of training courses. I would never admit this to my employer, because as far as they're concerned I deliver projects on time and under budget.

There's more to an IT role than your technical ability.

I'd have thought so too

You'd be surprised how much NT4 is still being used in businesses :)

I've read this thread (obviously) and his on "programming" that Mr^B has kindly posted. And to be honest he is a grade A troll. People like this (as posted earlier) make us all get a bad name. I think a lot of people are being very polite actually,

I'd hire anyone who would admit they know little about the job as a trainee, what I would not stand for is a jumped up pip sqeak that nows nothing about networking and little about programming. He's obviously about 15 -17 with no experience. Full stop.

Surely there is case for his being suspended/banned? He is either:

1) A troll
or
2) in need of protection from himself.

rz30, lock your door and draw your curtains, the ocuk epeen squad are hungry and your first on the menu.

Grrrrr

But seriously at least do a course or get a training book to help you understand networking even on a basic level. And be honest if a subject comes up in an interview and you dont know how to go solving it. This way they will probably give you access to a training course of some kind to expand your knowledge.

Ok i am going to do some serious study.

I am fixed on home networks and my knowledge doesn't go beyond that, but, as i said before, this is just an entry level position where trainig will be given, maybe i will be a network guru one day.
