Courier.. Is it acceptable to enter your back garden?

I'm certainly glad if wasn't launched. It would have smashed to pieces.

But had I could see some might have an issue. It's fine for me. Like said, if I didn't want this I could padlock the gate.

I do think it's a tad risky from the couriers point of view. Who knows what's behind that gate.

Is birth control that expensive there?

This conundrum can be avoided entirely.

I wouldn't have an issue with it and has happened once.

Now I put a note on my door asking them to put it in a bin (paper/card) I have hidden around the side of the house. The note isn't visible unless you come to my door and I have a camera there. The layout of the front of my house means you can't avoid the camera so no one can sneak past and get anything

I have contemplated one of these - https://www.brizebox.com/product/standalone-large/

Essentially you invited the courier to enter your property by purchasing the item.
It is reasonable for them to enter any unsecured external area in order to do this.
After all you wouldn't want to miss the delivery and for the item to be sent back because you didn't hear the knock.

Our posties and evri couriors open our front porch door and leave packages there. It's a bit weird because it is essentially the front door and only unlocked if we are home. They don't bother knocking and the other half really doesn't like it. We have contact sensors so we know the door was opened, it saves me a trip to the front door if in meetings etc so I dint mind too much.

Rather that than them leaving the package out in the rain on your doorstep!

Yes all the time, I usually ask them to put stuff on the rear porch as well if I get the chance.

Having said that, I live in a part of the country where my postie will open the front door to put mail inside if I don't hear him knock.

Like - did you want the stuff or not?

Ditto, would much rather they open the back gate, come round the back garden, and leave it safe and dry rather than leave it out the front.

Unlocking the gate is crossing the line imo, even if it was left ajar they shouldn't be walking around your personal space. Could be doing all sorts back there :p
