COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

So you can catch covid outside in the winter?

Is it really that difficult to understand my post?

EDIT: Though on a more serious note yes - the optimal conditions for the virus seems to be between 6.5-10C depending on study/environment if you stood near someone for a longer period outdoors say within 1-2 seats at a football match there is a significant chance of catching the virus from them.

Another thing that I don’t want mask wearing to be mandatory. As means one of us at work, standing at the entrance asking those who enter the store, without a mask, would you like a mask? There’s a large community that ‘claim’ to be exempt. Funny how a group of friends come in together are all ‘exempt’. We had abuse. None of us want to this ever again.

This large community has loads of anti vax and Covid deniers too.

If any of you want masks back - just try the above for ten minutes! You will understand why we hate it

Have you thought about a career change?
Yes. It’s not me that’s fed up with work - short staffed (not being replaced when those left) rude customers etc. Everyone is.

Retail is a horrid job.

Everyone needs to work in retail to understand it more. If this doesn’t change people’s attitudes- then nothing will.

Ideally you should have that experience at the beginning of your career not the end!

re: n1111ck

I can’t see what he’s saying but the replies are telling. I think he summed up his position by quoting the Sun saying “it’s over” late last summer. It’s in the archived thread but I think my recollection is fairly accurate.

My stalkers here now (who has me blocked but comments on all my posts #metoo etc) so I'll leave you all to your doom scrolling - hope you cant catch covid online - you cant can you??

Still another 26.5 years to I retire! The last 2.25 years from the moans, abuse from customers has aged me by 6 years and ‘Covid’ which I had just before the first lockdown (as I don’t know if I actually had it as no test centres for 42 miles) as aged me 4 years. My peak flow should be 430 for my height age and gender. I struggle past 320. It was 370 before. Need stronger asthma meds now

So now you can catch covid from farts? Its a wonder you lot ever leave the house lol
That isn’t what he said, and you know it. You’re going to have to do better in this thread than “So now you can catch Covid from x?” every time somebody says something.

I find it remarkable that you can be driving a car at 30MPH. and you can smell the cigarette smoke of the driver of a car in front who is exhaling through his open window. Of course I caveat this with the fact I favour driving old bangers on the road from long before pollen filters were a feature ..

3 weeks to the day and my cough has finally stopped and my energy levels are back to normal.

Thats good to hear, I think we had it around the same time.

For me, following my elevated HR I tentatively returned to running on Sunday a week earlier than the GP advised because A. I felt pretty good and B. It was starting to break me not being able to run. Anyway Sundays run which is usually a 10km was reduced to 5km and my HR shot up to Zone 4 within three and half minutes and then hit Zone 5 not long after. I have a slow HR anyway which at rest is between 45 - 50 (dropping to 40 when I'm asleep). Its very very rare for my HR to hit 165 even when I'm hill running etc but on Sunday it hit 170 just on a 5km Treadmill run.
Anyway rather than stop i just carried on with it, with the intention of leaving it a day and then running again today (Tuesday). I got my 10K steps in yesterday as well which helped the recovery yada yada. Woke up this morning feeling the best I have in close to 3 weeks, lungs are about 95% complete with very little cack coming out now and today's 5km was pretty much exactly back to pre-covid albeit I have definitely lost some fitness in the two weeks off.
Garmin HR Zone data tell a clear change between Sunday and today (top one is Sunday)

So I feel like its gone from me now and I'm really releived for no lasting effects. I'll be taking the return to running 5 days in the week though relatively gentle I think over the next couple of weeks.
