COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

Conclusion: AR (all ages) and asthma (aged <65) act as protective factors against COVID-19 infection, whereas asthma increases risk for COVID-19 hospitalization. None of the long-term medications had a significant association with infection, severity, and mortality of COVID-19 among patients with AR and/or asthma.
Interesting paper showing hayfever gives you some protection against covid

Finally, a benefit of Hayfever! Lol

Felt my throat scratchy in the middle of the night plus more coughing. Unsure if the coughing is asthmatic, hay fever etc. The scratchy throat was my parents first symptoms and they were positive

Still negative.

I'm still covid positive after 7 days.
But symptoms have dropped to near normal.
Apparently can test positive for ages.

Friend’s brother tested positive for 2.5 weeks after symptoms went. Due to his job, he was told only to come into work once he’s neg.

Went to visit my grandad in a care home yesterday - despite maintaining strict measures they've had to isolate 3 of the people there - seems like staff brought it in despite daily testing. To visit we had to don a plastic overall, gloves and mask up (until about a week ago they also required a negative LFT and temperature check at the door).

Despite being a fairly nice place and run by decent staff, especially with the COVID measures it was like visiting a prison.

Has anyone here or know someone who has tested negative earlier in the day and tested positive later on in the day?

Wrists and ankles feel weak. Head feels heavy and now back upper chest is starting to ache. Plus gome really tired.

Yes, me. I was negative last Thursday (~8am) and positive at about 9pm when I tested again, still positive 7 days later.

Sort of... negative the evening before, positive the next morning.

Swab the throat first to be sure, even on the test kits that don't require it, that can sometimes be the difference between a positive and negative test.

Each testing kit I have used has different instructions. Current pack has short swabs. I’m on holiday at the moment so packed 1x7 LFTs.

Another set I snap off the swab at snap point. Then leave in vial.
