COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

I was ultra cautious during the pandemic peak and basically became a recluse for 3 years and had absolutely no human contact so thankfully I've never had to experience Covid as an asthmatic as the general advice given was that people like me were at the increased risk of not surviving.

I still wear masks now but purely for my own protection and not to protect others. There's more chance of me catching germs from other people than the other way around but maybe the retards in our society still don't actually understand the real use and practicality of wearing masks.
I have asthma and didn’t have symptoms. It impacts everyone differently. Also I doubt there is anyone that hasn’t had exposure to covid unless they are in a bubble, don’t know the medical term for that device.

It's probably worth pointing out that the additional risk from asthma was only 14% I think and most of that risk was concentrated in people with uncontrolled asthma who had been hospitalised in the previous 2 years for it. If it was controlled and you were using steroid inhalers it was also suggested you could even be at less risk than the general population. And for example, to give you an idea of how that 14% compares to other risk factors, being obese it was ~100% risk increase). Or to put it another way, your asthma risk could be equivalent to the additional risk from Covid of being a year or two older.

With respect, this is just info posted now in hindsight isn't it pal.
We all lost our minds in the early stages of Covid and none of us knew what was happening. The whole world was running around like headless chickens and the end of the world was nigh !

I wish masks were still mandatory in UK too but only in social settings that are a necessity to some peoples lives and they have no choice but to use these social settings for a normal day to day life (public transport, shops and supermarkets, indoor workplace environments, etc etc etc). I still wear masks in some situations and I don't give a **** what anyone is thinking about me when they see me. If you don't agree with masks, that's okay, just get on with your own life and stay out of other peoples affairs/choices.

There was a man in the supermarket the other day who literally stopped dead in his tracks, focused his gaze on me as I was getting what I needed and walking down the aisle, and then started shaking his head, tutting and muttering insults as I got closer, with a frown on his face as though I had done him some sort of serious injustice by wearing a mask. I was tempted to get into verbals with him for staring at me for so long and being rude and over-opinionated but common sense got the better of me so I ignored him and carried on with my shopping.
If people want to continue wearing masks then that's fine, I would rather it wasn't mandated though

Nothing should have been mandated. Consideration is all i ask for but thats gone.
Disagree, mandates were put in place for the safety of people
If we could release a mandate gagging you, i'd be all for it.

I work there you fool and have to use ICU data every day.
You really are unbelievable or one of the best trolls we've had on here and I've fell for it.
He 100% is a troll.

I suppose it had to happen in the end after managing to avoid it for 2 years, the Covid has finally got me. Went to see the Nutcracker ballet on Thursday night, quite a few people in the audience coughing, so I think Mrs S tigers and myself have picked it from that evening out. Mrs got it first, did a test on Sunday but was negative. I started coming down with it Tuesday morning, we both tested positive this morning. To be honest, it just feels like a cold, runny nose, slight cough, achy back and legs. Had a some Ibuprofen and I feel a bit better.

I said that to someone in my apartment. She was going off on one at me when she asked have i had the jab and said no. She said what your parents say. I said. Its got nothing to do with them. She then asked, what your doctor say, I said, Its got nothing to do with them or you its my personal choice not to have it. Im not stopping you having it or anyone else its my choice just like it was yours. Then she stomped off.

This is the difference like i said for some reason they shout call you names swear at you for the slightest.

Ok - age and demographic confirmed finally :D

Nobody over the age of 18 would ask about what your parents thought.

That bally ballet!

Im actually 43 but why that matters i dont no.

What are you actually trying to say?

If you're antivax and a covid denier then we've had our fun thanks.
If you're upset some people are still talking about it, maybe another "thread of inconsequential things to skipper847" would be more interesting?
If you are trying to bait spelling/grammar nazis then despite your best efforts (and I have to say I'm impressed) they haven't bitten so try elsewhere.

Its great that people give so few ***** about their fellow humans isn't it. Those people will either have known they have COVID or not bothered to test because "its probably not COVID".

I am more or less the only masked on my train (commuter), certainly the only one wearing an N95. At first I was concerned it might cause trouble, and it does cause some looks, but I'm there thinking "stare all you want you couldn't afford it anyway". I've got a stack of retorts but nobody ever comments, even on those drunken cesspit 10pm plus trains to Brighton.

Mandates happen because people (like you) were too stupid/selfish/senseless to follow the guidelines in the first place.

If I recall correctly, the initial UK policy was 'nothing to be done, just be sensible about it'. How quickly that got taken away because, as it turns out, the British public are thick as ****.

No im not doing any of those. I was trying to say its other people what shout etc. An antivaxxer is when you try and stop other people getting jabbed which im not trying but again those who dont like it it if others dont have a jab its them what shout?.
You just not allowed opinions on anything these days if its slight against agenda. Im not up set at all as said its those who disagree with you that gets upset.

Yes i no my spelling and grammar is awful and i apologise :)
