I wish masks were still mandatory in UK too but only in social settings that are a necessity to some peoples lives and they have no choice but to use these social settings for a normal day to day life (public transport, shops and supermarkets, indoor workplace environments, etc etc etc). I still wear masks in some situations and I don't give a **** what anyone is thinking about me when they see me. If you don't agree with masks, that's okay, just get on with your own life and stay out of other peoples affairs/choices.
There was a man in the supermarket the other day who literally stopped dead in his tracks, focused his gaze on me as I was getting what I needed and walking down the aisle, and then started shaking his head, tutting and muttering insults as I got closer, with a frown on his face as though I had done him some sort of serious injustice by wearing a mask. I was tempted to get into verbals with him for staring at me for so long and being rude and over-opinionated but common sense got the better of me so I ignored him and carried on with my shopping.
