COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

The daughter works for Tesco's and is abit anti vax(she's vegan and stubbon) but she was saying that most customers were fine it was just some who would push it by being in her face. None of us really liked the restrictions.
The thinking of some folks is wonky. It doesn't make sense.

There are even people blaming long covid on oxygen deprivation from masks.

in a world where people think the vaccine was a big conspiracy to inject tracking devices into people I would say little surprises me now.
it is sad tho. all the FUD about vaccines has lead to large rises in various childhood illnesses which previously were incredibly rare (thanks to vaccination)

If governments hadn't played politics with the vaccines I don't think we'd have as many conspiracy theories going around.

People knew something wasn't right. But instead of being discerning and making a choice they have become paranoid of everything.

But we all have to some degree. If we thought Ivermectin was bad for covid we was duped too.

Politicians are generally untrustworthy. We needed unbiased medical opinion, not Boris the clown or his friends wife Dido messing up the track and trace system, or them making money through our misery.

That’s a sensible take on it. I’ve no idea how the mainstream media and governments regain trust after this.

For many, including me probably there is no trust anymore. I question everything now before I believe it.

They will have a long slog that's for sure but BowdonUK's take is eminently sensible and is now more what people will think on.
Did you have a look at that math's puzzle?

If you think rated respirators don't stop viruses then I have no idea how the hell you think they work. I agree that cloth masks do pretty much nothing, and surgical masks don't work well in enclosed spaces without ventilation. However, since you didn't bother to specify any difference in the types of masks available then getting you to understand nuance beyond 'masks don't work' sounds pointless.

Even the cloth masks did something as my son explained. Covid virus is smaller than the hole in the mask (true) but the virus needs a way of being transported(using a droplet of liquid from respiratory tract,, so in a cough or sneeze just the same as other viruses). This droplet is however bigger than the hole in the common mask, so therefore can restrict transmission(not stop it altogether). Obviously it wasn't good if not worn properly.

But still seem to land on the wrong outcome.

Science, bad.
Responsible media, bad.
Observable truths, bad.
Salami's truth, good.

Spot the odd one out.

It is a common mistake people make, even when/if a virus is fully capable of aerosolized transmission large amounts is often on or in other particles in the air - there is also a Brownian motion type of effect going on which increases the chances that virus particles will be filtered as other particles collide with them.

Basic masks though with a virus like this only work to a significant extent where you have all parties masked and distancing and crowd mobility is observed i.e. a supermarket environment with a one way system, etc.

You mean follow certain guidelines as outlined by infection control?

So, your son, Tonys Fauci Jr, says the cloth masks, like those that my neighbour used to hand sew from torn up T-shirts, and hand around my estate during the pandemic, did something to protect society..well i'm glad your son cleared that up.

My son, an Ambulance crew member, who had first hand experience, aswell as having to go though various courses to qualify as a Technician. Also he has always had a keen interest in medical and scientific matters. Do you have any medical knowledge other than from twitter, facebook, Instagram or tiktok?

An ambulance technician is he? So qualified to drive the ambulance and apply a plaster is he? The best man at my wedding is a current operations manager in the Scottish ambulance service. He has filled me in with a lot of the lies that your son will never be privy to.

An ambulance crew member KNOWS that masks work. How's that then?

The more you talk the more stupid you look.
