Cowboy Bebop (Netflix)

I'd only got round to seeing ep1, guess I won't bother with the rest now. I do wonder why they feel it necessary to announce its cancellation only 3 weeks after its released? Can't help things, do they think they'll get more viewers because of it?

Bummer.

It wasn't perfect. But the show deserved a better ending than that dire season finale. The writers really put all of their eggs in the 'Season 2' basket with that ending.

It took a couple of episodes but by the end of the season I was really enjoying it, it's very different to the anime as there is basically no way you could do a straight anime to live action (and people's tastes and story telling has changed in 20+ years), but I was looking forward to a second season where you'd finally have the whole team together.

Colour me not surprised lol.

Cringe script, cringe acting and the writer team obviously just wanted to do whatever they wanted rather than homage the anime.
not sure i'd fully agree w/ that. i'm not finished w/ theanime yet but a lot of what was in the TV series was fairly faithful, other than having the timeline shuffled all over. The design work was spectacular too, they'd gone the extra mile to match even some of the smaller details of tech and gadgets, it was an obvious love letter to the anime. the major let down to me was the casting, the lead especially just couldn't pull off the laconic coolness. the mishsmash of styles jarred too, it was noir one episode, hippy 60s the next, etc. if they'd just established one it might have grounded it better.

Had never heard of it, didn't know it was an Anime show and enjoyed it enough to watch all the episodes in a weekend. Basic brain off entertainment.
