CPU & AIO getting hot, why?

The DRP4 is rated for 250w, have you actually used one?
Hence why I said it was rated higher as I wanted one originally before buying the PA120SE... The PA was rated for "200+" whereas the DRP4 is literally rated for "250w"

then why dose the PA120 run cooler...

there... look at the legend on the right.... then look that 5 coolers get cooler.... one been the PA120 the yellow line

Fair enough then, weird in the 'chapters' on the video it didn't state the PA/DRP4/NDH15... You'd think he'd of bothered adding that if he'd made chapters, hence switching it off.

That's a nice bonus then that I went for the PA120SE instead of the DRP4 then! I thought in the future when I upgrade again I'd have to get something else, but that's a nice bonus then!

I find it is stupidly quiet too, not as quiet as my bequiet Pure Wings 2 140mm's but pretty decent. my 5700x never goes above 57c in pretty much any games and I've only got those to PW2's up front and soon will add a 120mm version for exhaust as they're so cheap I may as well.

I only went for the PA as people said it'd be 'more than enough for a 5700x the DRP4 is overkill' when I mentioned wanting one, and at the time 6-9 months ago all I saw online was how the DRP4 beat the NH-D15 which was the king at the time or so the fanboys claimed...

its an updated video i could find the first one but they did go head to head.

the problem is "Poo companies tell you to buy stuff"
how is TDP measured? the brands all have there own way so 2 x 250w coolers from different brands will not cool the same

who is measuring the TDP? again them selves so a test can be tailored to give a goods number

is there a standard that is needed to have XXXTDP? NO

Yeah I never personally buy into all that, all I was interested in at the time was not buying a scene fan boy brand like noctua at a ridiculous price iirc £120 at the time just cause it was black  so £20-30 more than silver

So I looked into NH-D15 alternatives and the DRP4 seemed to beat literally everything in tests using the hottest temp intels, and equally good with the ryzens, and I thought well if it can cool a boiling intel that well and easily do a ryzen then I'm laughing... Then I was shown the PA and thought, well I can't really argue with that for the price/how cool a 5700x runs being 65w vs 105w etc etc...

TDP does seem like complete bs as it isn't TBP which is what matters when looking at power usage of say a cpu/gpu... And again they can always go above that boosting etc, so pretty both are pretty pointless measurements.

I'd rather see 'this is the MAX it'll put out' worse come worse figures of heat/power draw etc via real testing vs small print sales pitch claims.

Good to know when the 5700x eventually needs replacing I can keep my hsf then! Nice one!
