Tried this and again no joy. Put the CMOS back in after leaving it out overnight with just one ram stick and the same issue occured again.
At this point I think I have to try a new motherboard. Its costing me way more than the cost of the PC in total per day to leave it like this.
Any suggestions on what to replace it with? The motherboard is a
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard
Need something as good or similar as don't want to replace other components.

CPU's have a very low failure rate, you should try to test by substitution with known good components where possible. My guess would be that is probably the PSU or mobo that has failed.
If you remove all peripherals, USB devices etc, then take out any cards and ram from the machine and power on you should at least get some error code beeps or lights and then check your motherboard manual as to what those are. One by one start adding back the cards and devices until it fails and then you can isolate the problem.
You should inspect the cpu socket pins and make sure they are clean and not bent, if there is any TIM there its probably the motherboard that's done.

You can't get them new any more (Skt 1366 / x58) you have to go to FleaBay, try and get an Asus, even if it costs you a little more, they are good Motherboards.
Avoid Foxconn, i have one, shocking Motherboard, complains constantly.

30 minutes effort and no cost. Nothing lost if it doesn't prove successful.
You're not wrong there brother. Also my warranty has run out for an RMA. The code is 1018 meaning 18th week of 2018 which was back in May.
The guy I took it to did exactly this. He ran it out of the case with just the PSU and the CPU and the problem still happened. This is how he was able to narrow it down to one or another.
Warranty ran out in May, sods law!
Looking to get another board and chip which will take the same RAM if possible and also supports SATA 6GB. Open to suggestions.
