CPU compativbility

Thanks for that.

From what andy said, I can fit a full ATX board, and Yes id like to keep the DDR2 ram.
From what I can see theres only really micros that are am2+ on ocuk.

Edit: Actually I dont think it matters if its Micro ATX or normal, does it? I know the card will fit from what RJC has told me, but what about other things ??

The only difference is mainly the expansion slots on the ATX, and some can be better at overclocking. Also M-ATX tend to have onboard Graphics.
The case you have got can fit either, so it's really personal preference :)

mATX will only have one PCI-E 16x slot generally for graphic card, maybe fewer disk options.

Otherwise not too different.

(PS your thread has taken me past 250 posts, thanks)

Just thought i'd mention that i recently bought a AM2+ (DDR2 785 chipset) mobo for a htpc for the lounge as I had 6GB of DDR2 lying around. After looking and looking I settled on the Asus M4A785M-Pro mobo.

You may want to have a look at it if you want a mATX mobo. It has excellent cpu support, overclocking and core unlocking capabilities, 4 RAM slots (almost all the others seem to only have 2) and unlike the gigabyte mobos the sata ports are well clear of the 16X pci express lane (although it does have an IGP if you want a gfx card in the rig it wont hamper the ports).

Just a thought, if you need an ATX mobo all well and good but that lil asus mobo probably has everything you need.

Good luck with the build
