Hi guys, So I did my first build and it turned on which is the main thing but mid way through the windows install it did a rest like normal but when it booted back up I got a CPU fan error message. I have no clue what this means but I have attached a picture of the bios/screen im on currently. Please help.

does iit boot into Windows, are you at default 2133hz speed or running XMP/DOCP to a higher speed?

It doesn't boot into the BIOS and I didnt mess with the RAM speed yet so I guess 2133hz. I am using 4x 8gb Corsair Vengeance 3200.

Its just very strange how it booted perfectly the first time I turned it on but as soon as it reset I am having issues

It could be either it also could be a number of things.

Try each stick one at a time If all boot Then add another stick so you have 2 x 4gb then add the rest.

You may have to update the bios on the motherboard.

Is you cpu cooler overtight.

Sorry I don't know what you mean by overtight?

I guess you mean on the cpu itself rather than the rad? sorry for the silly questions/answers in advance I just wanna be 100% sure.

how would I tell?

4th stick of RAM in and we have a windows desktop so fingers crossed and touch wood its all working as it should.

Ok so how do I get everything running optimally haha?

Thanks all for your help thus far

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £4.23 (includes shipping: £2.74)

They keep an even spacing out on cables so they look like this

ooo that does look good but I was thinking about putting in a..

LIAN-LI STRIMER PLUS ADDRESSABLE RGB 24 PIN MOTHERBOARD CABLE

Cool.
Anymore problems let's us know.
great that you are in but my OCD needs me to say it : PLEASE for the love of all that is holy swap out those velcro psu cable tidiers out for cable combs! those cables are beautiful but look messy bunched up like that :D

I could cry... I just changed the cpu fan back to monitor in the BIOS and its given me the DRAM issue again...

Take out all the ram and just put one stick back in for know, see if it boots.
Leave the cpu fan monitor as OFF :) With it being an AIO pump being plugged into the cpu header it wont report correctly. I can't boot into windows either if i have mine turned on to monitor :)

It's quite normal behaviour.
Are you all sorted now?
Still having issues however now I'm thinking it could be software based as any update i.e. Windows needing to reset after an update or a change in the bios and it just doesn't boot DRAM light goes orange all the fans start spinning. I have to press and hold the power button to turn it off but it seems to boot after doing that. I'm afraid to do any updates that require a restart and I dare not change anything in the bios. My ethernet connection is also saying unidentified network and I cant connect to the Internet through it, I'm having to tether with my phone.

Im guessing you can't post .

If you done the above and don't get the orange dram light then it looks like you either have faulty ram stick or some Instabilty.

There are a few options.

Check the cpu cooler is not to right as mentioned before.

Download memtest and test each stick of ram for errors.

Update the motherboard bios to the latest version, this can solve problems with memory and other things but it comes with risks.
Right so little update micky booted fine with one stick of ram cant seem to make it fail. Booted fine with two sticks cant seem to get that to fail either, each time I'm restarting from desktop and entering bios changing cpu fan speed to monitor and ignore much like the times I did when it failed. Going to try a 3rd stick now. I loosened the cpu cooler also but didn't seem overly tight as it is. My cpu temp is idling at 47ish is that ok for a 3800xt?

Edit: I did a benchmark and it seems as though my RAM speeds are not registering?

Yes I agree , i mentioned this before about updating the bios.
If you have not updated your motherboard BIOS, do that first. It could be an old bios it's running on and causing issues like this. Update your motherboard BIOS and work from there.

I've updated my BIOS i'll attempt the "problem" stick later. Trying to figure out how to get connected to the internet via homeplugs - just says unidentified network and i've gone through so many different commands / reset the network settings / Disabled / Enabled / Uninstalled drivers / Installed drivers / Changed ethernet cable. I'm so lost on how to fix this issue.
