Hi, I built this pc today for my cousin the specs are:

I5 3570K, 8GB of Ballastix Ram, 1TB Seagate Barracuda, CD-ROM drive, Asus p8h67-m and a corsair 430 Builders edition and lastly the 6770 Sapphire Flex.

The computer is intended for Minecraft so the specs are more than ample for it however when I tried to boot the computer today with a dvi into the gpu everything posted apart from the display on the monitor. I thought maybe it's the IGPU preventing the GPU for displaying an image.

I then proceeded to trying the onboard GPU with a vga cable and still everything starts up but nothing displays :(

well some asus board let you update it without a cpu, just plug in a usb stick with the bios on it and update it,you'll need to check the manual, not all boards have that feature

only other way is to either buy a cheap Pentium sandybridge cpu and use that to update bios with

or pull out the bios chip, order a pre flashed one off fleabay with the latest bios on it,plug it into the board and install the ib cpu

im only guessing its an outdated bios but cant think whatelse you can try

It really strange all the fans and lights post yet just no image whether it's the GPU or CPU graphics it's really strange.

bios chips ar a tenner but makesure to tell them to flash it to latest bios first (that's if you went down that route)

cheap sb chip is around £25-£30 used

and red cpu/memory error led's light up?

should still display with onboard graphics though and its not

It's not my pc I won't be risking this :(

no image at all with gpu and built in graphics??

bios chip replacement is easy, easy as plugging in a ram stick only much smaller, your lucky asus design them to pull out, gigabyte bios's are soldered onto the mb

There is a MEM.OK light that stays red :(

and what happens when you press the memok button??

might not be bios, either bent cpu socket pins or memory incompatibility if that light is staying lit (it should only light for one/two seconds then go out and pc posts/displays)

cos something isn't letting it bootup

have you visually inspected the cpu socket for any bent pins? be carefull when looking
