Hi, i have a P5N-E SLI and a C2D 6600 @ 3Ghz (cant get any more atm) and i have a multiplier of 9, when i changed it to 10 in the bios i save the settings and on next boot it reverts it back to 9.

Am i doing something wrong? or not needing to increase the multiplier?

set it to 1.5 and +100mv

Maybe we ought to find out what kind of cooling he has first. Or what BIOS he's running. Or what his other BIOS settings are? Or whether he's following one of the overclocking recipes for that board? Or if he's done the VDroop mod.

I'm pretty uncomfortable with telling someone to max out the BIOS voltage based on the fact that he has a P5N-E SLi and an E6600.

It'll be interesting to see what he comes back with....

i wouldn't want to use 1.5v with a freezer 7, stick to around 1.35v and try to get 3ghz-3.2ghz orthos stable before going any higher. keep the full load temps below 60 and you'll be fine. a lot of E6600 will do at least 3ghz on 1.25v or less, every chip is different though.
