Sorry about title, hard to find words tonight???
Ok point of question is!

I raised my Q6600 to 3.6 today booted fine , and so I started intel burn test!

1st time I got a freeze. V-core @ 1.4 (cpu-z reported) not on full load
upped my voltage 1.45
2nd time my screen just went black. as if monitor turned off, excreted a little bodily fluids and returned to bios, where I plonked it back to 3.2

So does this indicate a hole anywhere? i.e voltage or mem or nothing at all?

should I sync my mem or forget that, and just use stock timings, volts and mhz ?
I've read the Oc sticky but as a noob need a few more helpfull pushes in right direction.

Merry xmas dude!

Whats the VID of the chip? What speed is your RAM rated for and what you running it at? What other voltages you got going at the moment?

Only hole you will get is on your mobo, where it will just not doing certain speeds but raise the FSB over it and be fine, not volts etc

should I sync my mem or forget that, and just use stock timings, volts and mhz ?

First question above, depends on RAM, manufacturer etc - should have stickers on side or find info on their website

Is that all you changed? vcore and FSB? you could try upping NB voltage to get your system more stable, also make sure you manually set your RAM voltage as a lot of systems undervolt which can cause probelms when you start OC'ing, you can get the rated voltage from your vendors website. Also your FSB is linked to RAM, unless you unlinked it, so dont forget when increasing FSB to get your CPU OC you then need to lower your RAM speed/multiplier. If you need more help post your full system specs

I have 2 x 2gb sticks of ocz reaper ram and it is set to the specs on the side,

- pc 8500
- 1066MHz DDR2
- EPP 5-5-5-18 (CAS-TRCD-TRP-TRAS)
- @ 2.125 Volts

CPU CORE = 1.45v Cpu-z reports 1.392 off load and 1.336v on load
SPP = 1.4 volts
MCP = 1.5 volts

nForce spp <-> mcp 1.2v

So full system specs,

4 gb OCZ reaper pc8500 1066mhz ddr2 ram
Q6600 currently at 3.2ghz on above voltages etc
Watercooled CPU
2x 280GTX
EVGA 780i nForce motherboard

yes all I did was raise the FSB up, and tried leaving ram at above settings, when it froze.
And then attempted to sync the ram which lowered the MHZ which was when it just went black!
