Gigabyte Z370P D3 MOBO
Super Flower Leadex III 550W 80 PLUS Gold
Intel Core i5 9400F 2.9ghz
Vulcan T-Force 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-19200C14 2400MHz
Zotac GeForce GTX 1060 Mini 6144MB GDDR5

Acer Predator XF270HBMJDPRZ 27" FREESYNC 144Hz

cheers

If your happy with the performance there is no need to upgrade. Does the game stutter when you play because you are at max cpu usage? What about gpu usage is that around 100%. If you get stuttering in games then a cpu upgrade is what I would look at first, but if you get a new cpu the 1060 is then likely to be the bottleneck.

If your not happy with your performance, then let us know your budget and people can give advice. Many people would advice an intel 12400f and appropriate motherboard as a good cost effective upgrade, especially for fps games. The intel 12100f is a good budget option also.

If you are set on AMD the Ryzen 5600 is a good option and just been released. Both the intel & AMD cpu can get beyond the 144z refresh of your monitor in some fps, so in those situations you shouldn't be able to tell the difference between them, https://youtu.be/ifI9nnmW5sg?t=607

You can carry on using both your gpu and monitor as you do now with a cpu & MB upgrade

It is starting to shutter slightly. It could be a virus I guess. Just going to do a fresh Windows install. Budget would be 800. So you think keep the Gpu and get a new mobo and cpu maybe? Thanks for the reply.

CPUs like the 9400f, do stutter in some newer games like Cyberpunk 2077. I think the stutter is more likely to be the cpu than a virus, especially as you can see it working at 100%.

Looks like Overclockers have sold out of the Ryzen 5600, but here is an AMD parts list. You can upgrade your gpu at a later date when either prices go down or the next generation come out. Its a bad time to buy a gpu with prices high and current generation cards starting the process of being replaced later this year.

AMD Ryzen 5 5600 Six Core 4.4GHz (Socket AM4) Processor - Retail | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk)
MSI MPG B550 Gaming Edge WiFi (AMD AM4) B550 ATX Motherboard | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk)
WD Black SN750 500GB SSD M.2 2280 NVME PCI-E Gen3 Solid State Drive (WDS500G3X0C) | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk)

You can use your current case, ddr4, psu, drives, gpu and monitor.
Add a bigger nvme drive if you want more storage. Faster ddr4 would also help with Ryzen, but see if your happy with using your current ram first, or sell on your current ram and buy higher speed. DDR4 3200 is usually less hassle to get stable

You can always wait. OR you can get on with having fun. The current bang for the buck CPU is the 12400, though you might want to stretch to the 12600. You've just missed a drop of Nvidia FE cards but there'll be another in a fortnight or so. Don't bother buying a 3rd party one: they're all silly prices. Sign up for FE PartAlert on Telegram.

You could always pick up a used i7 8700 for around £150 as a drop in upgrade, your 9400F will fetch around £90 so you'd only be looking at a £60 net spend for better clocks and double the threads.

2400 Mhz memory isn't ideal in CPU heavy scenarios, you might want to try overclocking it to 3000 Mhz and see if it helps.

might look into this.. would my mobo need upgrading?

I built a system recently with a 9400f and an RTX 3050 and didn't suffer any particular CPU issues so maybe as suggested try some 3200 MHz RAM and definitely refresh Windows or run something like CCleaner and a malware cleaner like Malwarebytes. I assume storage is not HDD.

Ubisoft have written a CPU guide for 100% usage.

I'd be surprised the 9400f is struggling that bad from my experience as it is a 6 core (no Hyperthreading) 4.0GHz processor though I didn't play Siege. RTX 3050 is slower than a 1060 so will bias a bit more towards the CPU.
