CPU upgrade?

Hi all,

I'm a bit out of touch, could anyone please confirm if a quad core Intel CPU will fit into my Asus P5B deluxe motherboard? And if so would there be an point in replacing my current CPU, a dual core I'm still running at stock 2.4?

Its Socket 775, so it will fit. Hard to say if its worth it, you could try overclocking your existing dual instead.

What do you use your pc for?
Have you thought about overclocking your current cpu.

I use it 99% for gaming, playing CoH and CSS and DoD etc. It seems a bit slow when I turn stuff off, particularly when I exit Company of Heroes. I've just looked at the CPU forum and the general concensus seems to be that its not worth upgrading at the moment. I wonder what else I could do :confused:

Upgrade to 4gb ram possibly, would be beneficial especially if you run vista, also you could OC.
