HI all,
Im currently using an Intel® Pentium® G5400 CPU with ASUS PRIME H310M-E (Socket- 1151, 2x DDR4, Micro-ATX) but am wanting to upgrade the CPU to the next level as money Is tight so I can have a better time on flight sim 2020 but I have no experience and knowledge.

Is there a CPU I can but to swop out the old one to give me a better game time does not have to be new but newer than I have currently.

Regards
Anthony

Is there different types of 9400f as looking on Amaz I'm getting a little confused and a new 560 board ?
Would my current ram also need changing then ?

The Intel 9400f is probably your best bet but make sure you update the BIOS first. If you have the money an 11400f + B560 motherboard will be far better.
Do I only have to update the Bios which I believe Is on the motherboard If I only get the 9400f ?
But I’ll look at the 11400f + b560 when wife lets me on the pc.
Also do I need a cpu cooler which I think I have on my old CPU or will I need another one.
I’ll upgrade the ram to 16gb whichever way I go.

Which b560 motherboard would you recommend as there seems quite a few under that b560, Sorry to ask again.

Intel 6 Core i5 11400F Rocket Lake CPU/Processor
ASUS TUF GAMING B560M-PLUS Intel B560 PCIe 4.0 mATX Motherboard
Corsair LL120 RGB 120mm Dual Light Loop 1 Fan Expansion Pack
Corsair 8GB DDR4 Vengeance LPX 2666MHz Memory Kit x 2

£411.24

Or

Intel Core i5 9400F 9th Gen 6-Core Desktop Processor/CPU - No iGPU
using old motherboard and then also upgrading ram to 8gb x 2

£140 plus ram upgrade

OR

Intel Core i7-8700 Retail - (1151/Hex Core/3.20GHz/12MB/Coffee Lake/65W/Graphics)
£229.99 plus ram upgrade and maybe new motherboard

You can get it on a well known 2nd hand high street chain's website.
Sounds like KEX
Lol found It,
so am I right In thinking I power off pc, take out the old CPU and drop this one In the boot It up or do I have to swop It out then do a bios update ?

Whilst I’m upgrading the CPU would this ram upgrade fit

HyperX FURY Black HX426C16FB3K2/16 Memory 16 GB Kit*(2 x 8 GB) 2666MHz DDR4 CL16 DIMM 1Rx8
So I’d upgrade from 8GB to 16GB

Got all the bits today so put It all In, took me ages to fit the new cooler as not much room, pc started It recognised the new CPU and went to bois screen where I went with defaults and all seems well.
Many Thanks All
Now need to find a 2nd hand GPU better than mine now lol

If the 1070 has an 8-pin connector it will work. Can you use it? Yes. Should you get a better PSU anyway? Yes. If not now, pronto.

If it has more connectors it won't work as that PSU only has 8-pin (6+2).
I think the 1070 card would fit the motherboard

You misunderstand. Nothing to do with the motherboard.

Some GTX 1070 come with a single 8-pin power connector. Others come with two connectors.

Your power supply only has one 8-pin (6+2) cable.

So you need to check which GTX 1070 model it is and how many connectors it has.
ok thanks for that as i'm learning as i go along
