What motherboard do you have as it may need a bios update for the 11400f to work ?
I think I will get the 11400f, thanks again
I would do as Mickyflinn said and check first to make sure your motherboard can support the cpu before spending any money. Should only need a bios update but you have to do this first before trying to fit the new cpu.
I will check it out
Tell us what motherboard you have.I’ve never done a Bios update before but I will do that first
ASUS Prime B460 plusTell us what motherboard you have.
I think I’m doing it, just down loaded the Bios update from the ASUS website and the EZ update softwareASUS Prime B460 plus
Afaik B460 does not have support for 11th gen officially, but if it works unofficially, I don't know.ASUS Prime B460 plus
Looks like your motherboard doesn't support 11th gen cpuASUS Prime B460 plus
I noticed on the websiteLooks like your motherboard doesn't support 11th gen cpu
How much was the original 10505? Or a 10600K?I noticed on the website![]()
Hmm. 10505 would be better value, I think.The 10505 is £52 and the 10600k is £70
It really depends on the game. When I was more 'core limited' I would check out benchmarks online and compare the CPUs. I'm pretty sure football manager isn't multi threaded, WoT is ancient and slay the spire should run on a calculator. I'm not exactly in the know regarding AAA titles. Thanks for the advice. Would having more cores on the 10400f help with game performance?
I will check the model number. I’ve updated the Bios, it was straight forwardHmm. 10505 would be better value, I think.
By the way, can you share the exact model name/number of your board from CPU-Z? Some of the B460 boards actually use H470, which means they do support 11th gen.
