cracked screen on iphone

The whole front glass/frame/LCD assembly is basically 'shaped' to sit in the case, there aren't clips as such. There are two small screws on the bottom either side of the charge connector, these hold the front assembly in place.

To be honest though due to the way it's constructed the front assembly doesn't move once it's in place, so it's likely that just the glass itself is moving.

I replaced my 3GS glass after I dropped the phone screen down.

It wasn't too tricky but I've repaired phones and electronics plenty of times before. The digitiser I use operates as well as OEM. If I catch it in the correct (or incorrect) sort of light I can see the digitiser frame within the glass, don't recall seeing this on the OEM? This is being highly fussy though.

I used some compressed air to ensure that no dust was trapped between the new digitiser and existing LCD.

If you're not feeling up to the task then it really is childs play to replace the entire screen and digitiser assembly and these are only £50 or so.

To update my progress: Just fixed my iphone screen using the videos and a £5 screen with digitizer from ebay. The hardest part was getting it open because my screen is cracked into tiny shards along the bottom!

All working now though and looks good, also lost a screw on the inside but dont think it needs all 6 anyway :p
